Dr.'s REMEDY Healing

Another from the 2010 Winter Collection from Dr.'s REMEDY is Healing, a seductive pewter with deep blue undertones.  It's light like deborah lippmann's Waking Up In Vegas, but the blue undertones makes this a cousin, not a dupe.  I'll have to do a comparison soon.

I used a base coat of Seche Natural, 2 coats of Healing and a top of Seche Vite.  The formula was quite nice on this polish as well.  Before I forget, I didn't happen to get "Nurture" which was the nude pink color in this collection.

I thought this polish would be more streaky, so I'm glad it's definitely not.  It has some milky properties so you can see a bit of VNL on my pinkie, but it's not bad.

In the shade, the blue really shows up - still a nice cool color - almost like freshly poured concrete.

Dr.'s REMEDY Desire

I posted the company press release on Dr.'s REMEDY back in February and now I have them reviewed and am posting.  First up is Desire, a dark brown creme, or as they said "a cocoa-meets-hot fudge handsome hue."  ^_^  I'm not the biggest fan of the square bottle tops because they don't line up perfectly after that first time.  Boo.

I used a base of Seche Natural, 2 coats of Desire and a top of Seche Vite.  The formula was super nice and I seriously think this is one of my best manicures as far as polishing goes.  I did have to clean up just a tiny bit with my paint brush, but not much.

I can't quite put my finger on the color - I'm not sure if I love it or not.  Part of me loves it because it's like a chocolate bar, part of me loathes it because it's dark brown.  I've never been a very big fan of dark polishes.

In the shade, it's quite a dark color - I don't mind dark colors on nubbins as much but on longer nails, I just get super self-conscious.  It might be a great Konad base though!

China Glaze Gamer Glam

I am in love with purple holographic polishes.  It's probably my absolute favorite "go to" wear for fun (right before red/pink holographic polish.)  I couldn't wait to try out Gamer Glam from the Tronica Collection by China Glaze.

I did not use a base or top coat, and this is 2 coats of Gamer Glam.

And a sad old shade picture.  Holographic polishes need the sun!
Formula was quite nice... this was actually day 2 of wearing - you can see some tip wear.

China Glaze 3D Fantasy

From the recent Tronica collection, 3D Fantasy wasn't originally a color that I though I'd like.  Listed as a "peachy pink holographic", I'm finding that it's much more of a tomato pink red?

I did not use a base or top coat with this but instead just wore it straight on the nail - 3 coats.  Formula was nice but I notice every single ridge in my nails.

And a shade picture - just because.
Maybe this is more peachy?  Meh.  ^_^

OPI So Many Clowns...So Little Time

Last in the Femme de Cirque collection is So Many Clowns... So Little Time.  Longest nail polish name ever?  Heh.  I found that it was a rather smooth polish application.  I used a base of OPI Natural Nail, 3 coats of So Many Clowns... So Little Time and no top coat.

Another sheer-ish shade.  Good for the office, sad for opaque color lovers.

Shade is a lot of the same.

And finally with a coat of I Juggle...Men.
You can see a bit more of the glitter over this color but it's still a bit sheer all the way around.

OPI is available at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and Ulta, for $8.50 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Nail Lacquer. Please visit their website for details [official website].

OPI In the Spot-Light Pink

Also in the Femme de Cirque collection is In The Spot-Light Pink, a "pretty pop of pink!"  It's a lovely color in the bottle.

I used a base of OPI Natural Nail, 3 coats of In the Spot-Light Pink and no top coat.  The formula was quite smooth.

Definitely more sheer than I originally thought.  I have seen other bloggers call this a sorbet (like the OPI Texas collection), so maybe?

In the shade - pretty squishy looking (jelly?  sorbet?)

Here it is with a layer of I Juggle... Men over it.
Pretty?  I like it.  Good office appropriate manicure.  ^_^

OPI Step Right Up!

Next from the Femme de Cirque collection is Step Right Up! a creme nude.  I did find this polish to be a bit on the thick side.  I used a base coat of OPI Natural Nail, 3 coats of Step Right Up! and no top coat.

Not bad, right?  It has a hint on pink to it along with the white.

I really like it in the shade - very nice neutral there.

And here it is with I Juggle... Men.
Quite hard to see but it's there - promise.  It would be great for that hidden pop of glitter.

OPI I Juggle...Men vs SpaRitual Shower The Peopl

So when I saw OPI I Juggle...Men, I immediately thought of SpaRitual Shower The People, since they are both clear bases with purple microglitter.  Could I have been anymore wrong?

I used a base of Seche Natural and 2 coats for my bare nails and a coat of CND Blackjack for my other nails.
I Juggle...Men is more of a blue/purple base with lighter particles where Shower the People is strictly purple.  It's super hard to tell in pictures, but you can tell the difference in person, promise.

OPI I Juggle... Men

From the Femme De Cirque collection, here is I Juggle...Men, an iridescent glitter coat suspended in a clear base.  It's super hard to tell from the bottle, but it's a red/purple/blueish microglitter that is almost like a flakey wannabe...  Yeah.

I tried putting 3 coats over OPI Natural Nail but it's kind of a fail on the bare nail, so I layered it over one coat of CND Blackjack (I've already gone through half a bottle of that stuff!).  Much better.

See what I mean?

Yeah.  I've also layered it over all the other polishes in this collection but I'll post those when I review those.  Fun stuff.  ^_^  The formula was great considering it's just a glitter coat.

Blogs of Note

Oh it's Sunday again.  Seriously the weeks are flying by for me.  As a note, the blogs that I post are ones that I follow... I'm always looking for more blogs to follow so yes, you can email me your blog - I'm currently going through all the ones I follow and then I'll be making a "second round" haha, so to speak.

First today is Nikki's Nails.  Medium length nails, loads of polish, some frankens and some nail art?  Winner!

Next is Nixxy's Nails.  Not only does she have great commentary with her medium length nails but one word is why you should visit her blog - mwciltrmnd.  Go.

Last today is Oooh, Shinies!  Another medium length nails, more nail art!  These are three awesome blogs this week - please do go check them out!

China Glaze Lightning Bolt

This was from the "what is going on with my camera" day as you can tell... my camera looks like it's GLOWING!  From the "Crackle Glaze" set, this is the white - Lightning Bolt.  Now, I've only used it over a creme - OPI's "Don't Mess with OPI" which I wore for St. Patrick's Day.  I've read that people have had their white turn yellow on them but maybe it's something to do with making sure your base coat is super dry?  That's why I put that layer of Seche Vite on top.

Picture time!
Like it?

Here's a detailed picture of the thumb.

China Glaze Crushed Candy

My blog is kind of jumping around right now - different brands, collections, etc.  I'm trying to play catch up as fast as possible... I still have some winter collection bottles to go through and have already gotten some summer collections in my hands!  So you'll be seeing a bit of everything the next few weeks.  :)  Enjoy!

China Glaze Crushed Candy is a light teal/blue crackle in their collection.  I personally like crackles best over glitters because it allows the glitter to really shine through.  Also, to me it makes the nail look less like an 80s art project, and more up to date.  Then again, I am absolutely horrible when it comes to fashion...

Here's the instruction card that's on each bottle, however me and directions?  Yeah.

What I do is apply by base coat, then my base color, then my Seche Vite.  THEN I put on a coat of Crackle Glaze and then another coat of Seche Vite.  This is only because I'm absolutely horribly impatient, so if I add Seche Vite, I don't have to "wait" for my base coat to completely dry.  It seems to make the crackle "crack" more in my opinion and not be so stringy.

So here is some Crushed Candy over some other manicures of mine.  First is Crushed Candy over China Glaze Ahoy! in both sun and shade.

Next is Crushed Candy over Dorothy Who? which I wore to a "Blue Birthday Bash" party a couple of weeks ago.  Sorry for the tip wear - this was a few days after the party - I really loved this color combo!

Finally, here is Crushed Candy over First Mate.  I didn't like this as much because First Mate is a creme, but it's still something I could see myself wearing out.

OPI Shatter Line Extended

Please enjoy the following press release from OPI!

Shatter Line Extended with Bold Blues!
OPI Launches Bestselling Shatter Coat in Three Blue-Hued Shades

OPI expands its Shatter line with the addition of three new trendsetting shades: Blue, Navy and Turquoise. With nautical hues of cobalt, indigo and sapphire, these blues provide the perfect look for summer nails in one simple step.  Inspired by graffiti art, Shatter leaves behind a crackled, two-texture finish when painted over any dry OPI hue. Adding top coat takes Shatter from matte to glossy in seconds.
Black Shatter was received with great fanfare, showing that women are looking for new ways to express themselves and are excited to try different textures on their nails,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “By adding a variety of colors to the line, there are more options for every woman, whether she is looking for a funky aquamarine or elegant deep blue. Unlike traditional nail art which can be complicated and difficult to replicate, Shatter is easy to use and allows everyone to experiment with this new trend.”
In addition to the original Black Shatter, the line also features the Shatter coat in White, Red and Silver. All Shatter retail displays now feature Quick Response (QR) code, a two-dimensional barcode readable by smart phones and mobile phones with cameras and Internet capability. A quick scan of the display’s QR code will directly link to a demonstrational video – making application foolproof.
All Shatter products contain no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde, and feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush for the ultimate in application.
Blue Shatter, Navy Shatter, and Turquoise Shatter will be available beginning May 2011 at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for  $8.50 ($10.95 CAN) suggested retail for each Shatter coat.
