Where has January gone?! It's been a stressful month and I'm determined to take "me time" and stop for a moment. Today, I decided to do that with a MegPhythm Gentle Steam Eye Mask.
This Japanese beauty staple made its US debut in October 2017 and uses self-heating technology to heighten relaxation and relieve hard working eyes with the warm and soothing sensation of steam heat. Each box contains 7 eye masks, all individually packaged.
The instructions are simple - open the pouch, tear along the perforation to separate the ear hooks, then place the white side against your eyes with the notched edge down (for your nose) and put the hooks around your ears.
While it's not the prettiest item on the market, it does exactly what it says it will. The packet starts to warm up and will stay warm for 10-15 minutes. You are not supposed to press it on your eyes or put on directly after using eye drops. The citrus smell isn't super strong (which I prefer) and the warmth on your ocular socket is soothing. I have used two masks so far and I keep my contacts in each time as you're just closing your eyes.
The Steam Eye Masks come in both citrus and lavender scents as well as unscented and may be purchased on Amazon.
