As you know, I've been working on clearing off my desk. Now I'm really pushing because I'm looking to buy my first Helmers next month so I want to get things organized so I can just start filling the Helmers when I get them home. Imagine my surprise when I realized that I had FIVE Morgan Taylor COLLECTIONS sitting on my desk. This weekend, I headed to a "Brewfest" (which is slightly less fun when you're pregnant) and know it would be 94 degrees and super sunny, I wanted a nice neon to go with my day. From the Summer 2017 Selfie collection, I have Morgan Taylor Pretty As A Pink-ture.
I started with Morgan Taylor ReactMAX Optical Brightener and decided not to use a white base coat. Neons have definitely gotten better as the years have gone by and some brands no longer need a white base coat to make the neon truly "pop". This collection didn't include a white or talk about a white base coat, so I was confident in my decision. The formula on this polish wasn't my favorite and I did need 3 thin coats to be full coverage. The other thing was that this neon did dry matte, so I used Glisten & Glow top coat to make it shiny and bright.
My camera went slightly crazy but still stayed pretty true to the pink. This really was a bright color and I enjoyed wearing it. If I hadn't needed to get more blog posts done, I would have easily worn this all week. I did have some pooling in my cuticles but I also attribute that to needing a manicure. I'm still on the lookout for a good place to get a natural manicure (sometimes called a "man-icure" because it's popular among men who just want cuticle care and nail length/shaping).
