I've been going through a blue phase with nails. First, it was a red phase, and now it's blue. Today I have Morgan Taylor Making Waves, which is a rich royal blue that dries down matte. This polish came out in 2014 as part of the Island Treasures collection, but I got it as part of a sample pack of polishes from Morgan Taylor in a beautiful acrylic box as a press package. Additionally, Gelish has a color also named Making Waves, but it has a blue shimmer to it and this is a straight creme.
I started with duri Rejuvacote, 2 coats of polish and finished with cuccio High Speed Top Coat. As I mentioned, this polish dries matter, but I really wanted a shiny look with what I was going for.
This photo is actually almost 24 hours after I applied because I wore this as a full manicure for my alma mater's football game. This color is similar to Sally Hansen Pacific Blue but darker and matte without the top coat. I'm going to wear it a few more days and then I have literally 12 more blue polishes on my desk that I want to try out this month.
The application was really nice, even being a matte - you just have to work quickly so you don't pull the polish up on itself.
