Digital Nails Red Wedding

Nothing To Disclose

I really miss how Digital Nails tapped into the fandoms of the day or memes of the minute. Today I have Digital Nails Red Wedding, a nod to Game of Thrones massacre from the third book "A Sword of Swords." This polish is packed with multiple sizes of red glitter in a tinted red base.

Digital Nails Distant Nuclear Fusion

Nails always make me happy. I can wear any color and just enjoy. Today I have Digital Nails Distant Nuclear Fusion, a deep blue holographic polish.

Digital Nails Allons-y!

Nothing To Disclose

I own a lot of holographic polishes but it's always sad when I realize the polish I'm pulling is from a brand that's moved on in the world. That's what happened to Digital Nails but I have Allons-y! a grey-holographic polish. I believe Allons-y is from Doctor Who but I hadn't watched it before.

Digital Nails Purple Reign

Nothing To Disclose

Digital Nails was an indie brand from Austin, Texas, that I absolutely loved. I got to meet the owner once, and she is just the nicest person. I placed several orders from her and one of my favorites was Purple Reign, a Barney-like purple with scattered holographic.

My Top 5 Indie Polishes

 Nothing To Disclose

Last week, 29 amazing bloggers decided to come together and decide their top 5 indie polishes. I make #30 but after a sick Squish all week and a job that doesn't allow for much blogging time, I fell behind. However, this holiday weekend let me catch up (until I snapped my SD card in my reader...)

So without any further ado, here's my top 5 indie polishes!

Digital Nails Purple Reign is a deep purple holo that is perfectly opaque in just 2 coats. The holo is ridic - just look at it! And that's with a top coat! Purchase Digital Nails here.

Girly Bits A Stripper Has Been Sleeping In My Bed is a crazy rainbow packed glitter in a gunmetal gray base. I actually used 2 coats over another indie to give myself a base to grip to. This is a thirsty glitter and needs a good top coat to cover. Purchase Girly Bits here.

Glam Polish WHOOSH! is a very light lavender holo that is opaque in just 2 coats and doesn't dull with top coat. The bottles always seem more holo that the nails to me, but there's still plenty of holo to go around. Purchase Glam Polish here.

ILNP Mega is the original silver holo from their line before they came out with Mega (L), Mega (S) and the most recent Mega (X). I just recently pulled all 4 from my boxes to play with but I only got them on a nail wheel before Squish started squealing for mommy. Check my Instagram for a short video and comparison. Purchase ILNP here.

Love, Angeline Did You Say Peppercorn?! is the combo breaker in my Top 5. It's a very muted, matte grey with blue microglitter that's only seen with a top coat, which I didn't add. I picked this color because it's a great office neutral and something that's a great palette cleanser to my holo and glitter bombs. Purchase Love, Angeline here.

And there we have it! Be sure to check out the other bloggers below!

The Beauty Quartet Subscription Box

I've been a huge fan of Digital Nails since I first stumbled across her Etsy site, so I was extremely excited to hear that she was a part of a new subscription service called The Beauty Quartet.

Digital Nails Holy shrimp!

Nothing To Disclose

Boosting the signal.

Raphaelle, the creative genius behind Digital Nails, has become one of my favorite polish creators not just for her amazing polishes but also her amazing personality.  On June 21st, she is participating in The Longest Day, an event to honor the strength, passion and endurance of those facing Alzheimer's disease. From sunrise to sunset, she will be singing karaoke to raise awareness and funds for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association.

On her personal Facebook page, she told her friends that she would gladly make a custom nail polish, not to be sold in her store, for anyone that donated $35 to her team fundraiser. I immediately signed up of course.

I gave her the following notes - I love purple, coral and silver polishes - don't love gold/yellow, blues or greens. My favorite finish is either holographic or glitter and least favorite is pearl. I love shape glitter but please no butterfly glitter and the more opaque the polish, the better.

A few days later, this beauty came in the mail. Holy shrimp! is an opaque one coater coral holographic polish and I LOVE it.  I used a base of Cult Nails Get It On, 1 coat of polish and topped it with Digital Nails Ain't Nobody Got Time For That.

To make sure I had opaqueness in one coat, we had to sacrifice a bit of the holo but I'm still very happy with it. In the sun, the holo peeked out to play.

I really love this in the shade - coral, the shimmer look from the holographic particles. Fantastic.

Finally indoors with indirect light - I couldn't stay still enough to get a sharp photo so it looks a bit blurry but it's still amazing.

Raphaelle is extending her custom polish offer to anyone that would like to donate. Her page is listed here and to get your custom polish, leave your name in the donation spot (no anonymous) and send a screen cap of your donation to raphyax at gmail dot com Then she will contact you about your custom! You won't be disappointed. All donations are tax deductible and the Alzheimer's Association is a BBB Accredited Charity. Go now - this offer expires in 20 days!

You'll have to visit wpp to see the full manicure and read more about how I found out about Polished Girlz, an organization that I highly encourage you take a second look at. My goal this year is to donate quarterly, mostly monetarily, because polish is something that I love and I want to share the love back.

Digital Nails Ain't Nobody Got Time For That

Did you hear that some photography I did ended up in Nail It magazine? And one of those photos was a bottle of Digital Nails polish? Well, now you know. And it made me feel like a rockstar.

Prior to that, I decided to place another order from Digital Nails and she added in a bottle of Ain't nobody got time for that, her new ultra fast drying top coat. This is a big 3 free top coat that also doubles as a glitter smoother - it's not as thick as Lynnderella Glitter Tamer, but thicker than Seche Vite.

I used it over my Essie Sunday Funday manicure but have also used it over other manicures and I'm happy to report that it does dry fast - not as fast as Cult Nails Wicked Fast but faster than Seche Vite. And I haven't had any problems with shrinkage.

Digital Nails is currently restocking Ain't nobody got time for that but there are a few bottles in her Etsy shop now. You really need to buy this because HELLO IT WORKS and more so because the cost?!  It's only $6 for a 13mL bottle.  SIX DOLLARS. Uh, I have time for that.  If you miss out on this stock, more will be coming on Friday, 9/13. (I ended up buying another bottle... and uh 4 more polishes from Digital Nails last night.)

Digital Nails - Brand Overview

Earlier this month, I was wandering Etsy and found a new shop that I'm now obsessed with. Now, it's partly because her labels are ridiculously cute, she's a fellow Texan, and her polishes are fantastic.  Her name is Raphaelle and the shop is called Digital Nails.

Here's a little more about her:

Digital Nails was founded in January of 2012 in Austin TX, after spending months creating custom polishes for myself and friends. I really got into nail polish a few years prior, and was extremely frustrated that a lot of the polishes I loved the most were either discontinued or perpetually sold out. Having a background in art & a passion for learning, I ordered some supplies and spent all of my free time creating what I couldn't purchase, eventually leading to creating brand new polishes that were expressions or literal translations of things that I love. I wanted to translate the geek cultures that I most identified with into a physical thing that I could wear, expressing my enthusiasm in a way that I could share with others. My experience as an artist taught me that it's not about throwing a bunch of pretty glitters together in a bottle, It's about expressing emotion through the use of color and light. - Raphaelle Yax

Her polishes range in the $10-$13 price except for the cuticle oil which was only $5.50.

The polishes come in 15 ml bottles (same as China Glaze) and are big 3 free.

Plus, how awesome is it that she packs her boxes with crinkle cut paper?  (And the Yay, glitter! on the package cracks me up.)

Do go to her shop and look around. I'm already planning my second purchase!
