I'm at the end of my duri journey and thankful that duri allowed me to review some of their polishes. It took me a long time do it but after two separate rounds of COVID and long-lasting effects from the first round, blogging really took a back seat. I'm still being seen by a cardiologist and a pulmonologist but so far my tests have come back favorably. Today I have duri Sorry Not Sorry which is listed as an opaque purple but it was more of a jelly for me.

One of my favorite shows as a teenager was Buffy the Vampire Slayer starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. I was OBSESSED with everything Buffy and SMG and today's polish, duri Glow Up reminds me of the opening credits. This deep blue purple metallic polish looks just screams vampy 90s to me.

We are nearly the end of my duri journey and I have to say, I've been pretty impressed with their range. Today I have a sparkly number with duri A Million Likes. I thought this was like a foil but it's listed as a glitter on their website.

I'm getting into the purples here that duri sent me and today we're starting with duri High Key, a burgundy purple metallic with no shimmer.

You've seen this color already but I wanted to show it alone. This is duri Google Me, a metallic blue with loads of shimmer. I really love how bright this color truly is.

duri Spilling Tea

It's been satisfying getting through my queue of polishes. I've also finally been selling some of my older indies that I purchased and that's been both bittersweet and freeing. Today I put on duri Spilling Tea which is a hunter green metallic without the sparkle.

I haven't been following the trends lately, but I feel like metallics are coming back with a vengeance. Today I decided to pull out duri Fire, a bold orange metallic that is sparkly like the sun.

Trying to finish up all these duri polishes on my desk and today I'm pulling another red - Social Bubble. This is a burgundy red microglitter in an opaque red base.

Blue and Gold Nails

HOW do people use their iPhones for amazing photos? Because y'all - I can't figure it out. I got a hohem iSteady X for Christmas and I haven't had the energy to open it but I did today because well, I did these nails on Wednesday of last week and so my grow out is - well, you can see it.

duri Humble Brag

Well January sure snuck up on me! In addition to work, I had a small surgery (things went well!) and we've had lot of delays with the kids' school because of both COVID and weather. It's shaping up to be an interesting year already! One of my goals for 2022 is to get my house cleaned out/organized and since my desk is always full of polish, it's time for another post! Today I chose duri Humble Brag, which is a squishy cherry red.

I love December and all the nail polish options that are out there. Are you a traditional red and white? How about some green? Blues and silvers? Maybe a silver and gold? LOTS OF HOLO. I have been staring at my polish for awhile and decided today was a day for duri Slay, a classic burgundy creme.

I was recently talking to a friend about duri products and I've had three bottles here on my desk just dying to be worn. Today I have duri Big Ego, a hot pink polish with silver microglitter.

As I mentioned yesterday, duri has a line of nail lacquers (psst: they carry gel too!) and today I have a pearlescent and sheer white with a fine, classic glitter. This is The Struggle Is Real ($8.50).

 It's hard to believe that I started this blog 4,271 days ago. That's almost 12 years! I do believe I'm one of the longest (semi) active nail blogs left in the United States. One of my favorites from the beginning was duri. I used their Rejuvacote Nail Growth System for years - sometimes as just a base coat, sometimes as the full nail growth system. Much has changed in twelve years and duri has expanded their line quite a bit!

Duri Rejuvacote: Update

So I'm still in love with my Duri Rejuvacote.  I've been wearing it under all manicures or just on its own and my nails have NEVER been this long.


However, on 13 January, I suffered a blow.

Boo.  I don't even remember what I was doing when it broke but the next day it snapped right off when I was taking out the garbage so I'm back to nubbins.  Here's my left hand as well.

You can see how thin my nails are on the index finger - nearly translucent!  Now I need to see about something to make them thicker since the growing is good.  :]  Duri just recently came out with a top coat as well called Miracote that I will probably be checking out when I'm done with my bottle of CND Air Dry and Seche Vite.

Naked Nails

So I like to go at least once a month to have my nails shaped and my cuticles removed.  It's relaxing for me, and I know I'm in good hands (hah!)


I took these pictures before I went in December - I've been using Duri Rejuvacote every day and am shocked at how long my nails grew!  I don't notice any extra strength in them, but the length has been great!

You see my left hand all the time, but I also have my *dun dun dun!* right hand!

I do hate how thin my nails are and yes I have loads of ridges, but keep your nails free of stains by always using a base coat before you polish your nails.  :]
