Girly Bits Prototype 5179

Nothing To Disclose

I just participated in my 5th Pookie's Polish Swap and had ForeverLacquered as my partner. She sent me an AMAZING box full of 35 polishes including this Girly Bits Prototype 5179. Typically, prototypes are just that - one or two bottles of a color while a maker is fine tuning a polish.

Girly Bits VIP Polish PolishCon Chicago 2017

I have another oldie but a goodie. This is Girly Bits VIP Polish PolishCon Chicago 2017. This is a blackened violet with scattered holographic polish.

Girly Bits Well Isn't That Special

Talk about a THROWBACK... today I have Girly Bits Well Isn't That Special, part of a 3-piece launch in 2013 for the Fall season premier of Saturday Night Live. This is a medium purple holographic with white flakes.

Girly Bits A Stripper Has Been Sleeping In My Bed

This polish is a fun one. This is Girly Bits A Stripper Has Been Sleeping In My Bed and it's chock full of glitter in a clear base.

Girly Bits V.I.Polish PolishCon NYC 2017

I must admit, I fully miss the high point of indie blogging when conventions were something I really looked forward to. Today I have Girly Bits V.I.Polish - PolishCon NYC 2017. This was my first time in New York and I was just in love with the whole thing. This polish is a medium turquoise with some flakies and is a linear holographic.

Girly Bits Sky Theater

I've been wanting to make sure I blog daily but I'm starting to get into a bit of a lull. However, today I pulled out Girly Bits Sky Theater and forgot how beautiful this polish is! This polish was a PolishCon Chicago 2016 exclusive that starts with a dark blue/purple base with rainbow reflective glitter and green shimmer.

Girly Bits Walk on the Wild Side

Pulling another PolishCon NYC 2017 polish today. This is Girly Bits Walk on the Wild Side which was a limited edition polish available at the convention and then again on her site a few weeks later. As you can tell from my swatch stick, this was an apple red polish with gold flakes and holographic glitter. However, in the last 6 years, this polish has faded into an orange polish.

Girly Bits What Happens In Vegas....ends up on FaceBook

I'm pulling more polishes from my personal stash that I ended up making swatch sticks for but never wore or blogged about. Today is Girly Bits What Happens in Vegas...ends up on FaceBook. This polish was given to bloggers who attended Cosmoprof North America in 2013 (my third year!). I was also brought back for a limited time in 2013 but quickly sold out.

Girly Bits Nameste Up All Night

Nothing To Disclose

The other half of Pam's gift to Jen from the "Oh Baby, Baby!" trio is Namaste Up All Night, a grey to soft blue thermal. After spending many a night up with my last newborn (who is almost 4!), this polish spoke to me in ways.

Girly Bits Womb Service

Nothing To Disclose

Today I have part two of the trio "Oh Baby, Baby!" from Girly Bits. Today's thermal Womb Service was created for Pam's other daughter Jen who is due this month. Jen is Team Green (not finding out the sex before the birth) so this polish is one option for her to wear on the big day.

Girly Bits Reveal

Nothing To Disclose

They say that the best creative types create from real life. I feel that's the dang truth for Girly Bits who recently came out with the "Oh Baby, Baby!" trio based on her two new grandchildren coming this spring. Sierra was having a girl so this polish, Reveal was created for her baby shower with it's blurple to pink color transition.

Girly Bits No Such Thing as a Polish Problem

Nothing To Disclose

I cannot believe this is the last week of June already! This time next month, I'll be getting ready to attend my 8th Cosmoprof North America conference and I'm so excited. I do miss not having an indie event like we have for the past several years which is where I got to meet Pam from Girly Bits the first time! Today I have a retired shade of hers from 2014 that I picked up called No Such Thing as a Purple Problem.

Girly Bits Dibs!

Nothing To Disclose

I've always been a fan of Girly Bits Cosmetics ever since that the creator, Pam, lives in the same named city that I do - except she's in Canada! I bought one of her polishes, Cosmic Ocean, back in 2013 when all the bottles had a handplaced gem on them. Those were the days!

Girly Bits Lost in the PATH

Nothing To Disclose

Happy Wednesday! I'm getting ready for my upcoming trip to PolishCon and realized I haven't really shown off my goodies from Indie Expo Canada that I went to this past summer! The event, held by Girly Bits Cosmetics, had some of the best brands from Canada and the US in attendance, and I was so happy with the turnout.

Girly Bits Stayin' Alive

Nothing To Disclose

Did you catch my Indie Spotlight on Nail It this past Saturday? So far I've only been using polishes that are readily available for purchase - nothing that is sold out or was only available in a past collection box or subscription service. Do you like that format? Let me know in the comments.

The Polish Convention NYC Spring 2017

Nothing To Disclose

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been so quiet on my end. I had been focusing more of my attention to social media, especially Instagram because last month, I went to NYC for PolishCon! While there, I got to watch over 34 brands do their hustle to sell beautiful multichrome, holo, creme, and glittery polishes to over 650 people who walked through the doors of the Grand Prospect Hall.

Girly Bits It's Hoop to be Square

Nothing To Disclose

I have a soft spot for neons - I love them to pieces but I don't wear them nearly enough. I purchased the Girly Bits "Hoop! There It Is" collection but haven't put them on so today, let's change that! This is It's Hoop to be Square.

I used a base coat of Duri Rejuvacote, 3 coats of polish and finished with Glisten & Glow H K Girl top coat. This polish does apply smoothly but I did see a couple of bald spots where the polish pulled on itself. Also this is a very yellow based (lime) green neon but thankfully, no staining. Also in my photos you can see some white pigment at the bottom of the bottle. It's just pigment being pigment - nothing to effect the actual polish formula or wear.

Another hot neon! No white base on this polish either but it's not needed. Just major eye burning colors.

My Top 5 Indie Polishes

 Nothing To Disclose

Last week, 29 amazing bloggers decided to come together and decide their top 5 indie polishes. I make #30 but after a sick Squish all week and a job that doesn't allow for much blogging time, I fell behind. However, this holiday weekend let me catch up (until I snapped my SD card in my reader...)

So without any further ado, here's my top 5 indie polishes!

Digital Nails Purple Reign is a deep purple holo that is perfectly opaque in just 2 coats. The holo is ridic - just look at it! And that's with a top coat! Purchase Digital Nails here.

Girly Bits A Stripper Has Been Sleeping In My Bed is a crazy rainbow packed glitter in a gunmetal gray base. I actually used 2 coats over another indie to give myself a base to grip to. This is a thirsty glitter and needs a good top coat to cover. Purchase Girly Bits here.

Glam Polish WHOOSH! is a very light lavender holo that is opaque in just 2 coats and doesn't dull with top coat. The bottles always seem more holo that the nails to me, but there's still plenty of holo to go around. Purchase Glam Polish here.

ILNP Mega is the original silver holo from their line before they came out with Mega (L), Mega (S) and the most recent Mega (X). I just recently pulled all 4 from my boxes to play with but I only got them on a nail wheel before Squish started squealing for mommy. Check my Instagram for a short video and comparison. Purchase ILNP here.

Love, Angeline Did You Say Peppercorn?! is the combo breaker in my Top 5. It's a very muted, matte grey with blue microglitter that's only seen with a top coat, which I didn't add. I picked this color because it's a great office neutral and something that's a great palette cleanser to my holo and glitter bombs. Purchase Love, Angeline here.

And there we have it! Be sure to check out the other bloggers below!

Girly Bits Auld Langs Wyne

Nothing To Disclose

It's my blog birthday! It's hard to believe that 5 years ago today, I opened my Blogger account and was like "Let's Do This." I'm very grateful for every single person who reads my blog and interacts with me online. I thought I would celebrate with Girly Bits Auld Langs Wyne from the Holiday 2013 collection, a crazy holographic wine polish. I purchased this as part of the Gloss48 sale back in February of this year.

I used a base coat of Cult Nails Get It On, 2 coats of polish and finished with Digital Nails Ain't Nobody Got Time For That top coat. The coverage was fantastic.

My camera just couldn't handle this polish. It was so beautiful, so holographic, so BLING BLING BLING. I mean really, how awesome is this?

Like most holos, it just kind of fades away in the shade but this base wine color is very pretty.

Sneaking in some indirect sun. I really do love this polish. I was trying out a new rounded nail shape after seeing it everywhere - runways, fellow bloggers, magazine shoots... but I really do love my squoval nails so I'm back to those. Funny how things can change over the years!

Girly Bits can be purchased on her website or through her approved distributors. Prices range from $10 (USD) to $12 (USD) but please note her website is in CAD, not USD because she is a Canadian company. Join the conversation on FacebookInstagramGoogle+Twitter, & Pinterest.

Girly Bits What happens in Vegas....ends up on Instagram

Press Sample

At the Sparkle & Wine 2014 Event, Girly Bits came out with the second in her "What Happens In Vegas" polishes - this one being What happens in Vegas....ends up on Instagram. It's this crazy fuchsia with holographic glitter everywhere and BAM in your face!

I used a base coat of Cult Nails Get It On, 2 coats of polish, then topped with one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food (which mattified the polish) and then Digital Nails Ain't Nobody Got Time For That (which made it shiny).

If you think this looks top coat hungry, it is. Girly Bits will be tweaking the formula and it will look exactly the same but won't need two coats of top coat for a smooth finish.

As with most holographic polishes, once in the shade, you lose the holo but look what you gain! Lots of beautiful shimmer - blues and purples start peeking out.

It's such a happy companion to last year's "What Happens in Vegas... Ends up on Facebook" (which I promise I will get on the blog soon!).

I got a bit of flash in this one - oops. But you can see that it has a smooth finish and like I mentioned - the final formula will be nice and smooth.

This polish will be available in a limited run in mid-August so be sure to sign up for the Girly Bits newsletter and follow her on social media for the announcement.

Girly Bits can be purchased on her website or through her approved distributors. Prices range from $10 (USD) to $12 (USD) but please note her website is in CAD, not USD because she is a Canadian company. Join the conversation on Facebook, Instagram, Google+, Twitter, & Pinterest.
