My last Rescue Beauty Lounge polish that I had to check if I still wanted to keep or purge is 360, which was originally a muted blue but might is straight up dark turquoise now. I don't know if it faded or what. This was from Spring 2010 collection so it is 13 years old.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Insouciant
1.31.2023
I grabbed another Rescue Beauty Lounge polish today to see if I wanted to keep or purge. This is Insouciant, which was super popular in the "greige" era of 2011 when smoky purple greys were all the rage.
Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily
1.27.2023
Back when I started my blog, Rescue Beauty Lounge was one brand that I always had my eye on. It was very lux, and a bit out of my price range at $20 a bottle. I recently had to move my Helmers out and decided to randomly open a drawer and see what I found. The result is Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily, a light turquoise with pink shimmer. I was obsessed with this color when it came out because it reminded me of succulents. This was from the Spring 2012 Fan Collection and was inspired by Kaydi-Kat.
Rescue Beauty Lounge Pre-Orders
1.31.2011
If you haven't signed up for Rescue Beauty Lounge's newsletter yet, you're seriously missing out. Ji personally writes and releases her newsletter with sales, pre-orders, etc.
Her new Iconic/Ironic collection is currently up for pre-order, along with her new base coat and Treatment System here.
I'm still lemming Catherine and Catherine H from the Real Housewives of the Tudor Dynasty but Insouciant is also calling my name...

Rescue Beauty Lounge Cherry Love
11.21.2010
Did you take advantage of the Rescue Beauty Lounge, who by the way, is now on Twitter, 50% off sale? When I heard rumors (which are still just rumors) that this would be the last sale of its kind, I narrowed it down to 4 shades and pulled the plunger. I do own Scrangie but realized last night that I haven't officially swatched it yet - and I need to!
One of the 4 colors that I purchased is Cherry Love, listed as a "Popsicle-fuschia, the love child of hot pink and sizzling red. When pink is too tame and red is too expected, give this glamorous shade a try." I always have heard from other bloggers that the Rescue Beauty Lounge cremes are super smooth but I did find this one to be just a bit thick. I'm not sure if it just needed time to adjust to the Texas humidity (is that real?) or what - but I didn't have that hard of a time applying - just needed to wipe a little extra off my brush.
I used a base coat of Seche Natural, 2 coats of Cherry Love and a top of Seche Vite.
In the sun, you can see how smooth the formula comes out - I do love how cremes look on the nail, which is funny... years ago I was all about glitter and nothing more. Now I love the look of glitter on other people because I know how hard it is to remove heh.
One shade picture - just a tiny bit of VBL, but I may be the only person to see it - you can see a bit of red-blue in the bottle, but not too much.
Now, I've heard (again from other bloggers) that RBL doesn't play well with Seche, but I didn't have any problems. I have 3 more colors here plus Scrangie and so I may be doing a wear test soon. ^_^
Rescue Beauty Lounge is available for sale on their website for $18 a bottle. You can Like her on Facebook as well as follow her on Twitter.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Sale!
10.29.2010
It's (almost) here! Email from Ji at Rescue Beauty Lounge
I’ve gotta go rest up.
As always, Ji
Last year's 5-hour 50% off sale resulted in literally thousands of orders, 10 straight days of round-the-clock packing and shipping (during a blizzard, no less!), employees threatening mutiny and more than enough frantic emails to short-circuit the Apple store.
So why am I preparing to go through this all over again, beginning at 11:00 am – 4:00 pm on November 1, 2010 EST.
Why, because I love you, my crazy polish-heads. I swear, this will be the only time you ever catch me in sneakers, just to keep up with the demand
But I do ask that you follow my glamorous Do's and Don'ts...
Why, because I love you, my crazy polish-heads. I swear, this will be the only time you ever catch me in sneakers, just to keep up with the demand
But I do ask that you follow my glamorous Do's and Don'ts...
- Do stock up on your favorite Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes and body products (you asked, we listened!). And while you may purchase the new Real Housewives of the Tudor Dynasty colors, they will NOT be marked down during the sale.
- Don't be fooled by a stray “Free Shipping” banner you may spy on the site. During this special event, you will be charged for shipping. C'mon, I'm already giving you a 50% discount!
- Do double-check your order before you purchase. We cannot edit, change or combine orders. And don't go looking for the “customer notes” on your order form. It does not exist during the mayhem that is this sale.
- Do a practice run a few days before the sale to make sure you have the correct email address and log-in information and get familiar with how the site works. Don't leave anything in your basket as they will be emptied a minute before the sale so we will have an accurate inventory of what is in stock.
- Don't call us (or show up at the door). If you must email us, please do so ONLY to customerservice@rescuebeauty.com and not to any other email addresses. We'll post something on our Facebook page if there are any technical difficulties. Do feel free to leave any raves there too.
- Do make a wish-list ahead of time along with some alternatives in case something is sold out.
- Don't beg, plead or wheedle. Sold out means just that—we don't have a secret stash in the back room.
- Do be patient with deliveries. We ship on a first come, first served basis. Allow approximately 10 to 15 business days for domestic orders, and 20-30 for international before you get panicked. (Again, check our facebook page for frequent updates). If you really need your "Frugalista" in a hurry, choose overnight or 2nd day shipping.
- Don't forget that Rescue Beauty Lounge polishes make amazing holiday gifts. Stock up on stocking stuffers!
- Do check back during the sale as some shoppers will fill their baskets in a frenzy but not buy everything. Don't hoard if you have no intension of purchasing everything in your basket.
- Don't forget to use (FIFTYOFF) at checkout, otherwise you will NOT get the 50% discount.
- Do have your MasterCard, Visa or American Express card warmed up and ready to go!
I’ve gotta go rest up.
As always, Ji
Rescue Beauty Lounge - Fall PreOrder
8.02.2010
From Ji over at Rescue Beauty Lounge:
Meet four of Henry the VIII's most intriguing wives—and my inspiration for my very regal polish collection for A/W 2010.
Okay, so I was already engrossed in the Tudor novel Wolf Hall when the Fall collections hit the runway. Givenchy's intricate brocades, Lanvin's feather-festooned metallics, and the strong, powerful neutrals at Celine hit the runway, all seemed reminiscent of the queens' elaborate wardrobes. I had my inspiration for Rescue Beauty Lounge's Autumn/Winter color collection.
Now for the who's who of Hampton Court:
Catherine—Henry the VIII's first wife and Europe's first female ambassador inspired this royal purple with a fine pewter sheen and hints of blue and fuschia shimmer.
Anne—Rumored to be a sorceress, Henry's second wife lends her short-lived name to this bewitching olive green with a subtle pink-gold metallic iridescence.
Jane—my (current) favorite polish, named for Henry's favorite wife, is a pale grey pearl with sheer washes of pink and gold.
Catherine H.—Like Henry's trophy wife, you'll lose your head for this shimmering Wedgewood blue hue with a hint of a gold- and pink-flecked darkening sky.
Needless to say, my loyal VIP subjects, these colors are going to fly off the shelves like, well, Tudor heads off shoulders. But as this Queen's favorite, you're first in line. So I order thee to...pre-order now for shipping the 2nd week of September!
As ever,
Ji

Rescue Beauty Lounge Pre-Order
6.08.2010
Straight from Ji (owner, creator, master of Rescue Beauty Lounge)
Get’em while they’re hot!
For those of you who are scratching your heads in confusion (and I’ll admit, the names don’t exactly bring to mind a delicate pale pink or a ripe juicy tomato red…), Scrangie is a shimmering iridescent beetle wing in violet/blue/green, inspired by the nail blogger of the same name. No More War is a pop-in-your-dirty-martini glossy olive green. Neither is your run-of-the-mill, off-the- drugstore-shelf shade. And given the demand for these colors, this next issue may only last as long as your weekend spray tan.
On your mark, get set….
As ever,
Ji

====================
I own a bottle of Scrangie, and I'm seriously thinking of picking up a spare. Since Scrangie came out, companies have JUMPED to attempt to reproduce it (Sally Hansen Grape Going is one), but no one has come close. Now No More War doesn't really do anything for me, but I'm not an olive person. I used to have olive skin when I was a baby, thank you Grandma for your Native American + Italian genes. However, I'm almost thinking about getting 2 bottles of it just for the sake of saying I have it. Now, these are $18 a piece. Is RBL worth $18 a bottle? My honest answer is yes. And there you have it.
YOU ASKED (BEGGED, PLEADED, CAJOLED)
FOR THEM...YOU GOT’EM.
48 HOURS VIP SALE, PRE-ORDER NOW!
You know how much I detest seeing RBL polishes going for ridiculous prices on Ebay. And yet when murmurings that Scrangie and No More War were becoming hot commodities on the nail polish black market, I decided to reissue these two previously limited-edition polishes. FOR THEM...YOU GOT’EM.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Surfer Girl
3.17.2010
They aren't even out but the new Surfer Girl colors from Rescue Beauty Lounge are already pre-sold out. ^_^ I've actually asked about review samples, but didn't receive a reply email. Official release below:
Doesn't everyone want to be an uber-cool Surf chick? With that perfect salt-styled hair, glowing skin and laid-back attitude. Those sporty-fresh models at the Proenza Schouler Spring 2010 show inspired me to bring vintage surfer-chic to the beaches of Manhattan and beyond. I even learned some surf-speak to name our latest collection:
Diddy Mow, a surf term for a harsh wipeout, is a putty green—the color of sand through sea water, the moment before you eat it!
360° is a move where the surfer and board spin around on the face of a wave. It also is a gorgeous deepwater aqua blue polish.
And nothing sets off a tan (bottle or spray, of course) like Bangin'—a hot red coral like the sun sizzling on the horizon.
And if Spring weather seems far away, fear not. These colors are wonderful accents against late winter’s grays, browns and blacks.
Pre-order now—the web is already buzzing about these new colors. Then get ready to “hang 20” glamorous nails at your next mani/pedi.

Scrangie vs Grape Going!
1.10.2010
As per request from Nicole [Twitter page] from Magic Maid [website], I have a comparison post for you. Sadly, this morning as I was driving to my parents' cabin, I broke my nail so I am back to nubbins for another month until they grow back out.
The colors being swatched are Rescue Beauty Lounge [official website] Scrangie and Sally Hansen [official website] Grape Going!. Scrangie is one of the "Blog Writer's Colors" that came out late this summer. Explained by Scrangie herself, this is a "medium blue-based purple with green iridescence and green microshimmer." (By the way, check out her Twitter and her blog. You'll thank me later.) It is gorgeous on the nail, and when I wore it as a pedicure, it lasted 3 whole weeks without chipping. This was also my first RBL polish and is a more expensive polish for only 0.4 ounces. With shipping, I paid $26.50 for this ONE polish ($18 for the polish, $8.50 for ground shipping - the only shipping available).
So imagine the delight to bloggers when Sally Hansen came out with Grape Going! (Yes, the exclamation point is apart of the polish color.) It's a duochrome of blue and purple, and only when you have the bottles next to each other in person, can you tell that Grape Going! has a strong blue shimmer while Scrangie has a strong green shimmer. In photos however, well.
I painted my pointer and ring fingers with Scrangie and my middle and pinkie fingers with Grape Going!
You can also see a bit that Scrangie has a bit darker purple base. This is 3 coats of polish each, with a layer of Seche Vite base coat, but no top coat as to not alter the polish.
You can really see the green vs blue shimmer here and again, in person, there's no question that I'm wearing two different polishes because of the shimmer.
So there you have it! Grape Going! is close but not a real dupe. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?
(Oh, and great news, I just ordered a light box, so no more bad pictures soon!)
