Sation Miss-terranean Collection

Sation has worked hard in the past year to really to rebrand and bring forward some great collection campaigns and this fall was no different. 

I was supposed to meet up with Sation at Cosmoprof this year and I completely spaced it. As you may remember, Cosmoprof was a bit of a disaster for me between a broken laptop and just general <curse word here>. However, I've heard nothing but amazing things from the collections that were shown.

This fall, Sation launched their Miss-terranean Collection - a transatlantic tribute to the rich, vivid color palettes of Europe's most treasured destinations: the classic beauty of Italy's primaries, the decadent sizzle of Spain's signature brights, and the ever-polished appeal of the oh-my-glam Parisians.

#31DC2013 Day 3: Yellow Nails

Cutting it close today, I know. But I had a glorious 3 hour nap as it rained, so sorry, not sorry.

Today's challenge was yellow nails, and this was a challenge for me because I typically HATE yellow polish.  Like really hate.  First I thought about glitter, then cremes, then golds and then I just got distracted.

When I was searching my boxes, I immediately came across Color Club Daisy Does It, which is a yellow microglitter shimmer in a slightly yellow base. However, it was just too sheer so then I found my Ruby Wing Birdie and put down 2 coats of that.  (I started my manicure with Cult Nails Get It On.) Then I added 2 coats of Daisy Does It. But I didn't feel complete so on my ring finger, I added one coat of Sation Twinkle, Twinkle Big Star and one more coat of Daisy Does It to make the glitter look more yellow than gold.  Add Cult Nails Wicked Fast top coat and DONE.

I actually really, REALLY liked this manicure! I didn't get as much glitter as I hoped out of my Sation bottle. The larger rainbow reflective pieces sank towards the sides of my nails and all that really stood out was the red glitter, but I can't wait to layer it over white and see it all pop out. I even considered wearing this look to work! It's just the right touch of glamour.

NOTD: 15 September 2012

I was so in love with my Sation Blue Sky's The Limit manicure that I had to keep wearing it but I decided to add a little spice to it, with Cover Band Sticks 'n Stones available at Ninja Polish (currently out of stock).

My terrible right hand - I had 3 broken nails (thumb, index, middle), and a super long ring finger.

My polish matched my cardigan!

Sation Blue Sky's The Limit

Earlier today, I told you about Sation by Miss and how they were coming out with some awesome cremes for fall 2012 - the "Little Horse on the Prairie" collection.  I do not normally wear blues but for some reason, this color was CALLING to me.  (If your nail polish starts talking, you might have issues.)  This is Blue Sky's The Limit and it's a lovely sky blue creme.

I started with a base coat of Poshe, 2 coats of polish and a top coat of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.  I felt like this bottle was a tad thick, but a bit of thinner can smooth that right up.

I love how pretty this color is!  It was just so in my face without being overpowering.  This is taken in the sun, and you can see that it's not too icy blue but not too electric either.

Even in the shade, this color just pops.

Add the flash and you have awesomeness going on.  I ended up wearing this for DAYS.  I didn't have any issues with staining either so that is an A++ in my book.  A blue that doesn't stain?  Winner.

Sation: Brand Overview

After my panel at Cosmoprof over Social Media, I was approached by a lovely young woman who wanted to introduce me to the world of Sation by Miss Professional Nail nail polish.  I was excited because I had heard chatter about "really awesome glitters" being at the show, and this was the brand that offered them.

Some background on Sation:  Founded in 1983 (whoa, it's as old as me!) and incorporated in 1985, Miss (the parent company) is a minority business enterprise certified and family-owned company.  They had many different colors to choose from, were a professional line only (salon), and are big 3 free as well as suitable for both natural and acrylic nails.  It's also proudly made in the United States.  This year, they have gone under major rebranding, choosing the top 100 colors and creating a new logo for Sation, new display shelves, a new bottle and most awesomely, making themselves available to the general public!

Cotton Candy - Sation's #1 best selling nail color of all time.  It's a light pink with a blue flash shimmer which I will be wearing for you soon!

Some of the new shelving units with a beautiful display of polishes - great for your salon but ahem, I almost want one for my house!  Just kidding - I'd need a single line display but I absolutely love the rainbow design and the side shelves are a great added touch for your literature and featured colors.

Then I got some awesome news that Miss will be carrying 24 colors for its line at select TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Winners (Canada) Stores.  The 24 colors will be a mix of Sation's Classic and Limited Collection lines - starting at the end of this month - and color selection may vary from store to store.  Sweet!
