ellagee Plum GEE-nius
7.23.2024
I'm in a purple mood so today I have ellagee Plum GEE-nius. This is a blackened purple holographic polish.
ellagee Rainbows All Over Your Blues
7.09.2024
Pulled out another oldie today. This is ellagee Rainbows All Over Your Blues, and it's a navy blue base with scattered holographic flame.
ellagee Mistress Of All Evil
1.03.2015
The final polish I had swatched was also from the Maleficent Duo called Mistress Of All Evil. This is a clear glitter with a mix of black, purple and hot pink holo glitter. I used 2 coats of dabbled polish over Now Shall You Deal With ME!
You can see how there is a good mix of the colors in the pink and purple glitters. The black seems a little out of place but it still works.
Especially in the shade, the glitters stick out individually. I was a little surprised at the coverage in 2 coats but you can always use the dab technique where you dab the glitter onto a makeup sponge to absorb the clear base and then dab the sponge onto your nail.
You can still purchase this Duo from Gloss48.
You can purchase ellagee through her website. Prices range from $8 to $15.00. Join the conversation with her on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and Tumblr.

ellagee Now Shall You Deal With ME!
1.02.2015
Today I have from the ellagee Maleficent Duo collection Now Shall You Deal With ME!, a light green holographic. I haven't seen the movie yet and I really want to - I'm waiting for Redbox or Netflix personally. Anywho!
I used a base coat of Glisten & Glow Stuck on Blu!, 3 coats of polish and finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat. Formula was smooth but just not as pigmented as I would have liked.
Again, you can see a little bit of VNL but thankfully this polish didn't stain either.
Bye bye holo when you say bye bye sun. I can see this being great for spring though!

ellagee Let's Get Ready To RUMBLE
1.01.2015
Happy New Year! What a way to start than with ellagee Let's Get Ready to RUMBLE, a blue glitter in a clear base. There are different shades of blue here - navy, indigo and even a charcoal holo. I decided to dab 2 coats over Whoa, Is My Hair Out? and it worked out pretty well with two dabbed coats.
I want to try this over other color combinations now and let the glitters sell themselves.
Here in the shade, you can see a bit better the different colors and sizes of glitter.

ellagee Whoa, Is My Hair Out?
12.31.2014
From the Hades Duo, today I have Whoa, Is My Hair Out? I am a huge fan of Hercules so this polish is pretty fantastic for me. It's a light blue holographic that needs a bit of help to be opaque but it's worth it.
I used a base coat of Glisten & Glow Stuck on Blu!, 3 coats of polish and finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat. Formula was smooth but just not as pigmented as I would have liked.
Here in the sun, you can see a bit of my VNL peeking out, but thankfully this polish did not stain my nails. I may wear over white next time.
And just like the purple holo, once you're in the shade, the holo goes to bed and you're left with a shimmer. Still a neat color - and unlike anything I can think of it my collection.

ellagee Shake A Poor Sinner's Hand
12.30.2014
Back in October, ellagee was featured on Gloss48, the niche beauty website that brings you the best from the beauty world. I was given the opportunity to swatch the collections but then I thought I lost my copy of the photos! Found out yesterday that I was wrong, YAY! So without further adieu, I will be reviewing the 5 polishes I had, more in depth!
First is Shake A Poor Sinner's Hand, from the Dr. Facilier Duo. This is a berry violet holographic polish that was opaque in 2 coats. I used a base coat of Glisten & Glow Stuck on Blu!, 2 coats of polish and finished with Glisten & Glow HK Girl Top Coat. Formula was smooth.
You can see how holographic it is with the sun.
Definitely a fan. I haven't really met a holo I didn't like.
But as with most holos, once you hit the shade, you're just left with a shimmer polish which is still pretty. It reminds me a little bit of China Glaze Grape Pop but with more red and HOLO. ^_^
You can still purchase this Duo from Gloss48 here.

Maleficent Duo [Link]
My last set that I received was the lime green holo Now Shall You Deal With ME!, paired with Mistress Of All Evil - a clear top coat with a mix of black, purple, and hot pink holo glitters.

ellagee Chronic Badass
8.05.2014
One of my favorite parts of nail polish is meeting the people behind the blogs and behind the brands. Last November, I was able to meet up with a group of polish makers and lovers in Austin, Texas - including Laura, the owner and creator of ellagee polish.
Laura and I are both members of a club that no one wants to join - fibromyalgia. Laura's is more advanced than mine but we can both relate to the constant and irritating pain, exhaustion and frustration of this very misunderstood chronic illness.
Chronic Badass is the ellagee half of this "Fi-bros For Life" collaboration box and is a clear base with black matte and holo glitter, black holo stars and butterflies in matte purple and silver holo. This polish was her collaboration with fellow Texan, polish maker, and lovely lady with fibromyalgia - Raphaelle from Digital Nails.
I decided to use LVX Porcelaine for three fingers (creme white) and LVX Aster for one finger (creme purple) for my base coats and just used one dabbed coat of Chronic Badass. I topped all fingers with Digital Nails Ain't Nobody Got Time For That. The coverage was good but I did have to fish a bit for the butterflies that I used.
The stars wouldn't come out and play for me but you can see I got two butterflies with a little fishing.
Shade photo! You can really see the different glitters here - square, hexagonal, circle... And if you look super hard, you can see a black star near my middle finger inside the bottle.
Here's some indirect light as well. I'm really loving the lavender glitters but not against the purple. I think it's better over white.
