Nicole by OPI Got Style?

Another from the Nicole Walmart collection today - the "mauve frost" Got Style?.  I really didn't think I'd like this color originally but it's super pretty, especially in the shade!  (Did I just say that?)

I used a base of OPI Natural Nail, 2 coats of Got Style? and a top of OPI Top Coat.  I had to fight myself on taking this off because I really liked it THAT much.  Formula and application were awesome.

Oddly enough, in the sun, I didn't love this color as much.

But in the shade this frost/metallic/whatever awesomeness in a bottle shows up and made me super giddy.  I guess frost would be the best way to say it because it looks like someone blew ice over it.

And one quick inside with a flash.  ^_^

Definitely pick up this color if you can find it - it's absolutely lovely.

Nicole by OPI is available beginning at ULTA, Meijer, Harmon, HEB, Sears, Wal-Mart and more for around $8 a bottle.  For more information, visit their websitefollow Nicole by OPI on Twitter or become a Facebook fan.

Jesse's Girl Flirt vs China Glaze Trophy Wife

Still looking for a dupe here - here is Jesse's Girl Flirt and China Glaze Trophy Wife and yet in the bottle, they sure don't look very similar.  I figured Flirt would be much darker than Trophy Wife.  For both polishes I used a base coat of Seche Natural, 2 coats of polish and a top coat of Seche Vite.

Are you ready?

Can you tell the difference in the sun on which picture is which?  Yeah, me either.  In fact, I forgot which color was on what nail.  Go me.  These are definitely dead on dupes.

Edit! I checked my notes, I have Jesse's Girl Flirt on my index and ring fingers and China Glaze Trophy Wife on my middle and pinkie fingers

Same story in the shade.  So if you missed Trophy Wife or you're just looking for a frosty foil pink, look no further - these two are cut from the same cloth!

China Glaze Trophy Wife

When I was originally taking my bottle pictures of China Glaze Trophy Wife from the Specialty/Glitters & Cremes Collection, I had one that was further away, but this picture just cracked me up.  It reminded me of The Daily Nail's post on her adventures with Zoya Nail Polish Gemma.  Please do check it out.

I used a base coat of Seche Natural, 2 coats of Trophy Wife and a top of Seche Vite.  Trophy Wife is a pink foil that applied very smoothly - very nice formula.

In the sun you can see that this is a nice foil/frost pink.  Hey, didn't I say that before?  ;]

Same story in the shade - it almost looks like this polish is a sponged gradation from dark to light but nope, it's just the polish.

You can still find this color on Head2ToeBeauty and possibly on eBay or you can stay tuned for my upcoming comparison post!

Jesse's Girl Flirt vs China Glaze Good Witch?

In my quest to find dupes among my own collection, I thought that Jesse's Girl Flirt looked familiar, so I started digging.  First, I pulled out my China Glaze Good Witch? from the Wizard of Ooh Ahz re-release last year.  (It was one of my first reviews when I started blogging - be kind with my bad pictures!)

For both polishes I used a base coat of Seche Natural, 2 coats of polish and a top of Seche Vite.  For some reason, Good Witch? was a lot easier to work with this time around.

These two do look similar in the sun but there is a bit of a difference.  Flirt is a straight up foil/frost where as Good Witch has this tiny pink glitter in it that gives it a slightly gritty look.

In the shade, you can see that Flirt is more plummy pink where Good Witch is more baby pink.  Dupes - no.  Cousins - sure.  However, don't leave me yet - I have yet another good comparison coming up.  :)

Jesse's Girl Flirt

Winding down in the Jesse's Girl collection - have you purchased any yet?  For only $3 a bottle, they really are some great finds.  Originally when I saw Flirt, I was thinking "frosty pink? Pass."  Bad move, Krystal.  This isn't just a frosty foil pink, it's an amazing explosion of happiness on the nails.  (Boom.)

I used a base coat of Seche Natural, 2 coats of Flirt and topped it with Seche Vite.  The formula was very smooth on this color, much like the entire collection has been.

Eeeii pretty!  In the sun you can see how the foil-like polish just glows with soft shades of pink and almost a golden hue.  This is one of my favorite colors, next to purple.  It's not so in your face like a neon pink, but it's not as boring as a pink creme.  Great for Singles Awareness Day, I mean "Valentine's Day" coming up in a little over a week now.

I especially love this color in the shade - again sparkle without being too insane.  I know frosts get a bad rap from some but I like them for the most part (I think).  :)

Jesse's Girl sells for $2.99 a bottle online or at Rite Aid stores. You can visit Jesse's Girl on their website, Like them on Facebook and Follow them on Twitter.

China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald

Have you purchased any of Vintage Vixen yet?  I only have 2 more swatches left - today and tomorrow.  As I mentioned the other day, I actually took all these within about 3 days, but I'm posting one at a time.  Do you prefer to see the entire collection at once, or one per day?  I find as a reader, that when I see some bloggers have all the colors in one post, I skim the post instead of read.  That's just me though - let me know about you in the comments section!

Emerald Fitzgerald is listed as a turquoise green frost with shimmer.  It's definitely darker than Emerald Sparkle, and of course, it's a frost, not a glitter.  It also looks a little like their 2009 Summer Days color, Watermelon Rind, but that has more blue in it.  I may have to do another comparison soon.  ^_^

I used a base coat of Seche Natural, 2 coats of Emerald Fitzgerald and a top coat of Seche Vite.  This application and formula was nice like the rest of the collection - I really didn't have major pooling like some bloggers have mentioned.

This seems more like a dusty turquoise to me but there is definitely some blue in that green.  It's a nice pretty color for fall, for sure.

In my indirect sun picture, you can see a bit more of the shimmer in it - it's almost like looking underwater, which is pretty awesome if I do say so myself.

China Glaze Midnight Mission vs Dorothy Who?

While I was swatching Midnight Mission, I thought it looked a little bit like Dorothy Who? from the Wizard of Ooh Ahz collection, so I thought I'd do a quick comparison.

I used a base of Seche Natural, 2 coats of Midnight Mission and 3 coats of Dorothy Who? (and I should have maybe used a few more...), and a top coat of Seche Vite.  Midnight Mission is a frost whereas Dorothy Who? is a glitter.

Already you can see that Midnight Mission is darker (it is a navy, afterall) that Dorothy Who? but I was still going to try it out on the nail.

In the sun, you can see that yep, they are definitely different.  Midnight Mission is a bit like the older sister of Dorothy Who? to be honest.  You can also see a small bald spot on my middle finger.  Oops.

In the shade, it's the same story.  Oh well, I thought I'd try!

China Glaze Midnight Mission

What's up, off centered bottle?  Heh.  Midnight Mission from the Vintage Vixen collection which is being released domestically today (!) is listed as a navy blue frost with silver micro glitter.  The whole Essie Starry Night thing was before me,  but it seems like this could possibly be a bit like it?  I don't know, like I said, this is before my "time".  ^_^

I had a base coat of Seche Natural, 2 coats of Midnight Mission, and a top coat of Seche Vite.  This color and formula was pretty decent - nothing extremely special but nothing bad either.  I'm not sure how I feel about navy still.  Sun pictures up first.

I think this would be a really great fall color come September, when the leaves are starting to fall... I think?  We don't have "fall" down here, but I love the concept of trees losing their color and leaves instead of what we have, haha.

I only got one shade picture for you today.

And that's all she wrote.

China Glaze First Class Ticket

Oh man.  China Glaze got me all excited with this one - First Class Ticket is a deep purple frost with shimmer and wow, it's amazing.  I did have to do some major color correction on the actual pictures but let me tell you, it was totally worth it.  This is a blurple, meaning you see lots of blue along with the purple - in fact, the shimmer was mostly blue particles.  Oh man, I'm just going to shut my mouth and start with all the pictures (there are a lot of them).

I used a base of Seche Natural, 2 coats of First Class Ticket, and a top of Seche Vite.  Yum.  Sun first.

I mean, seriously - look at this!  Like I said, I had to color correct to get this to its true color - the camera was going nuts saying "BLUE" but this is definitely a purple on your hands.  Soooo pretty.  Shade pictures:

I think this is probably the MUST HAVE of the collection for me.  I absolutely adore this color.

China Glaze Bogie

I'm a huge purple fan, so I figured that Bogie from the Vintage Vixen 2010 Fall Collection would be right up my alley.  It's not bad, honestly.  It reminds me of a few other colors though, but I'd have to do a comparison to be sure.  China Glaze lists this as "plum frost with shimmer"

I used a base coat of Seche Natural, one coat of Bogie, and a top coat of Seche Vite.

Polish consistency was good - I love only using one coat.  You can see the shimmer a bit and it is very "plum" like in shade.

I do really like how frosts look in the shade/indirect light - it's smooth like a shimmer but not brush strokey like a metallic.  Quite pretty overall.

China Glaze Hey Doll

When I first read the release of Vintage Vixen, China Glaze's 2010 Fall Collection, I was most excited about Hey Doll, which was listed as a rose frost with shimmer.  I adore rose colored nail polishes since that's what my Mom wore when I was a little girl.  Actually it may have been more of a rose gold, but it was just very classic, elegant, and hey, it was Mom.

I used Seche Natural for my base, 2 coats of Hey Doll and topped with Seche Vite.  Unfortunately, I did not fall in love with this polish.

Oddly enough, the shimmer is pretty muted and the rose was almost too brown for me.  I have a hard time calling this a "red" until I put it against the browns of the collection - then you can tell it's red.  But if I just picked this bottle up on its own, I'd be slightly confused.

More oddly still, in the indirect sun, there was almost a raisin purple brown showing.  This color just didn't win my heart, and that makes me a sad panda.
