Jamberry Envy

Press Sample

When I originally saw Jamberry Envy, I thought "Nope, not my color" so it's been sitting on my desk for awhile. However, now that I'm rebuilding my entire polish spreadsheet from scratch and don't want to waste time putting in polishes that I'm giving away, I've really been working hard to go through my stash and see what I'm keeping and what I'm not.

Different dimension Bean There, Done That

Nothing To Disclose

I've been to Chicago three times now and I have yet to go to the Bean, which is actually called Cloud Gate (keep that for trivia night!). Mostly because the times I've been in Chicago, I've been busy during the day and only had free time at night. Eventually I'm sure that I'll get over there at take my iconic picture but for now I just have Different Dimension Bean There, Done That, a limited edition polish from PolishCon Chicago 2016.

BLUSH Lacquers Frosted Foliage

Nothing To Disclose

Another beauty that I got during PolishCon Chicago 2017 was from BLUSH Lacquers and is called Frosted Foliage. This was part of the Beauties Fall Collaboration Collection that was released in October 2017 and it was just so unique to me. This is a grey jelly base with a strong red/orange-gold-green shifting shimmer, a linear holo and red-orange-gold shifting flakes. You can see from the bottle above that it looks very orange originally!

Tonic Oops 2 Fall 2017

Nothing To Disclose

When I went to PolishCon Chicago 2017, one of my favorite booths was the Tonic Booth. While I was blowing up my credit card, I randomly decided to grab some of the Oops! polishes that were on a shelf. These were one-offs that creator Lindsey found in a box before PolishCon and decided to sell at the convention. Today I have Oops 2, Fall 2017. This is a green based multi-chrome base with intense pink to orange to green shifting shimmer, scattered holographic glitter and multichrome flakes.

Contrary Polish The Boulevard

Nothing To Disclose

So for now, I think I'm going to be showcasing 2 indies and 2 mainstream polishes a week. I think that's a pretty decent balance as I'm going through my Purge and just my collection in general. It also helps keep me motivated because I have so many pros and cons when it comes to indies and when it comes to mainstreams. Mondays are still currently a toss up. I have #MakeupMonday or sometimes I just want to throw in another polish or nail treatment... What are your thoughts on that?

LVX Seychelle

I'm continuing on my personal Purge and it's been interesting seeing what colors I tend to gravitate to and what I THINK I like vs what really looks good on my nails. Granted, it all comes down to personal taste but I tend to surprise myself time and time again.

Glisten & Glow Jukebox & Jitterbug

As I slowly clean out the rest of my polishes, I'm finding gems in my own collection that I've forgotten about. Today's polish was in a box on my desk and I thought today was a good day to bust it out.

KBShimmer Northern Frights

Nothing To Disclose

If you've been reading my blog for awhile, you know that BeautyJudy is one of my best friends and I met her through blogging. So when she told me that she was going to be having a collaboration with KBShimmer, I was jumping for joy.

Glisten & Glow Shimmer Me Timbers

One of the more interesting things when cleaning out my nail polish is realizing 1: how many indies I have acquired in the past several years and 2: how many polishes I have that are AMAZING. Tonight I was cleaning out a box that's been sitting by my desk for over a year (sad, I know) when I realized I had this great Glisten & Glow beauty sitting here.

Sun Polish 7

Press Sample

This year at Cosmoprof North America, there were plenty of new brands, and one that was walking the floor was Sun Polish - a premium line out of Southern California. Unfortunately, they left the show the day before I got there but they were kind enough to send me two polishes to try. Today I have 7, a light green leaning mint creme.

Cirque Cerrillos

Nothing To Disclose

After my first Indie Spotlight, Emily suggested that I swatch a Cirque Colors and while I haven't bought from them in awhile, I decided to "shop my stash" as the cool kids say. I only own 3 Cirque polishes right now, all older but I was interested in seeing how well these polishes hold up over time. Today I have Cerrillos from the 2014 Heritage collection. Cerrillos is located in New Mexico accessible from State Highway 14, commonly called Turquoise Trail so this polish is well named.

JulieG Tropical

Nothing To Disclose

If you love ipsy, then you may just recognize the next shade here! Today I grabbed JulieG Tropical, a matte neon turquoise/mint polish from the May 2016 five piece release. If you're an ipster, this was also included in a limited edition bottle but I purchased mine straight from the website.

LVX Oasis

Press Sample

Yesterday the Fall-Winter 2016/17 collection launched at LVX. After I played with stamps last week, I decided that I needed to go out of my comfort zone and wear a green on my longer nails. I mean, they aren't LONG but they aren't as short as I'm used to. LVX Oasis is a classic hunter green creme with blue undertones.

I used a base of Duri Rejuvacote, 2 coats of polish and finished with Digital Nails Ain't Nobody Got Time For That top coat. The formula was a little thin with the first coat but self-leveled to a perfect opacity with the second coat.

What do you think? I'm pretty happy with it and it kind of freaks me out in a good way. I feel like a model, haha. While I'm not sure how much I will wear this polish out, I do want to play with it more on shorter nails. I am getting rather long here!

LVX [Website | Facebook | Twitter | YouTube | Instagram] is available on their website. It is 10-free to include Toluene and Camphor, vegan and cruelty free. Use promo code POLISHGALORE for 20% off your purchase!

Polish My Life 1950s Mint 'Fridge

Nothing To Disclose

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! How do you celebrate today? I don't necessarily do anything special but I try to at least wear green. Polish My Life 1950s Mint 'Fridge is a perfect mint green creme to end this 7 Days of St. Patrick's.

I used a base of Duri Rejuvacote, 3 coats of polish and finished with Glisten & Glow H K Girl top coat. I had hoped this would have been plenty opaque in 2 coats but I really needed the 3rd. What I love about this polish is that it has this teeny tiny silver shimmer added in that you don't see while wearing but it just adds to the shine of this polish. This is from the All Things Vintage collection that I picked up last year. If I recall correctly, you are supposed to double up on base coat to ensure none of these polishes stain because of the heavy creme pigment but I didn't have any issues with just my normal Duri Rejuvacote (one coat).

I LOVE this color. I wish my parents were still around so I could ask them if they knew anyone with this color of fridge because it screams the 50s to me. I can definitely see myself wearing this more and I'm seriously considering it for my pedicure. It's just bright and happy. Fair warning, this polish is currently sold out.

Polish My Life has closed and is no longer available for sale.

Zoya Tiana

Nothing To Disclose

Today in my series of greens I have Zoya Tiana from the Delight collection. This is a nice pastel mint green creme that reminds me of Easter.

I used a base coat of Zoya Anchor, 2 coats of polish and finished with Zoya Armor. I don't have as quick of drying time with Armor, so be sure to make sure and let all layers dry before moving around. I don't recommend using a different base or top coat with Zoya as their formulas all work in harmony with each other. Every time I've tried to wear a Zoya manicure with a different base or top coat, I get shrinkage, lifting or just general messy stuff going on.

This is definitely a lighter green with no staining thankfully. It isn't really yellow based but more of a straight mint which I like with my skin color. I did have a little bit of clean up necessary but it worked well.

Zoya [Facebook | Twitter | Pinterest | Instagram | YouTube] can be purchased on their website for $10/bottle.

Sinful Colors Feeling Lucky?

Press Sample

Glitter topper polishes - love them or hate them? Either way, they are an instant way to get nail art to your nails. Today I have Sinful Colors Feeling Lucky? a limited edition polish in stores now. This polish has bright green microglitter in 2 sizes, lime green round glitter and gold 4 leaf clover glitter all suspended in a clear base.

I decided to layer one coat of Feeling Lucky? over JulieG Gelato in Venice. The microglitters and round glitter applied properly but I had to fish around for a gold 4 leaf clover that I placed on my ring finger. Unfortunately, my ring finger is more curved than I thought so the glitter stuck up and caught on everything before peeling off. I topped all layers of polish with Glisten & Glow H K Girl top coat.

I really like how well the different sizes of glitters play off each other and how well they applied in one coat. My only downfall was using the 4 leaf clover on my ring finger instead of my middle finger (which is more of a flat nail).

Sinful Colors is available at major drug and mass market stores nationwide for $1.99, or online at www.sinfulcolors.com. Join the conversation on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.
