China Glaze Living In The Elmo-Ment
3.15.2023
One of the last collections that I got from China Glaze was their "You Do Hue" 2019 collection with Sesame Street. Today I have Living In The Elmo-Ment, which is a red jelly with rainbow reflective glitter.
China Glaze Fur Real Though
11.27.2022
It is wild that I started this blog almost 13 years ago. Today I have the brand that started it all for me - China Glaze. This is Fur Real Though from the "You Do Hue" 2019 collection, a celebration collaboration with Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary. I loved Sesame Street as a kid, but my three boys were not interested. This is a squishy fuschia pink polish that is not quite a jelly but leans that way.
duri Sorry Not Sorry
2.16.2022
I'm at the end of my duri journey and thankful that duri allowed me to review some of their polishes. It took me a long time do it but after two separate rounds of COVID and long-lasting effects from the first round, blogging really took a back seat. I'm still being seen by a cardiologist and a pulmonologist but so far my tests have come back favorably. Today I have duri Sorry Not Sorry which is listed as an opaque purple but it was more of a jelly for me.
duri Humble Brag
1.24.2022
Well January sure snuck up on me! In addition to work, I had a small surgery (things went well!) and we've had lot of delays with the kids' school because of both COVID and weather. It's shaping up to be an interesting year already! One of my goals for 2022 is to get my house cleaned out/organized and since my desk is always full of polish, it's time for another post! Today I chose duri Humble Brag, which is a squishy cherry red.
Morgan Taylor Barely Buff
3.10.2021
Okay. So today's color is one of those "But why" but at the same time, it makes sense. Hear me out. Today from the Morgan Taylor Spring 2020 "Editor's Picks" collection is Barely Buff and this is listed as "palest pink creme." Listen... this is like what you wear to have smooth looking nails when you aren't allowed to wear nail polish that's "loud".
Morgan Taylor Call My Blush
3.09.2021
Continuing with the Morgan Taylor Spring 2020 "Editor's Picks" collection is Call My Blush, which is a soft sheer pink. Much like yesterday's On Cloud Mine, this polish has a jelly consistency.
Morgan Taylor On Cloud Mine
3.08.2021
I'm finishing the rest of the Morgan Taylor Spring 2020 "Editor's Picks" collection and the next few are what I feel really are the definition of "runway". Today I have On Cloud Mine which is a sheer peachy pink. This had a jelly like consistency.
Morgan Taylor See You In My Dreams
4.16.2020
I love a good classic red. When I first saw Morgan Taylor See You In My Dreams from the winter 2019 Champagne & Moonbeams collection, I thought it was a vampy shimmer but I was happily surprised to find a more squishy vamp red! Not officially a jelly but I can't call this a creme either!
lakur by Londontown Invisible Crown
5.29.2019
So last week, I pushed all these posts back so I could get the Morgan Taylor Summer 2019 collection written and I asked on my Facebook Page if you liked it when I write all about one brand or mix it up. The votes were overwhelming "Mix It Up!" so I'm going to try and post a different brand every week day. Now, I may have two posts a week from the same brand but not back to back. Since I have more polish than I can wear in a lifetime, I don't think it will be an issue! Now back to my regular schedule - you'll notice my nails are much longer because these pictures were actually taken back in March!
As I was clearing out a box next to my desk, I found another lakur by Londontown color and considering how pretty Londoner Love was, I thought I'd try this light pink jelly, Invisible Crown.

Vapid. Leviathan
1.01.2019
Happy New Year! I'm absolutely determined to get my polish under control and in ONE room this year and that means parting with things that I don't know that I'd wear for more than a few hours. How did Vapid Leviathan hold up in my personal Purge? Find out below.
Sassy Cats Lacquer A Fantasmic Blur
4.15.2018
Welcome back my loves! It's been a crazy month but the Road to PolishCon is back with more brands that will be out at PolishCon NYC happening in June. Today I have Week 5's contribution from Sassy Cats Lacquer called A Fantasmic Blur.
Morgan Taylor Put A Wing On It
2.09.2018
In my day job with the Navy, I end up interacting with some really amazing people - one of them being the editor of our local newspaper. He has a great dry wit and there was a time where we were talking about something that he said "What is happening" in a really dry sarcastic way and it really stuck with me. Well today is a "What is happening" with the polish that I decided to pull out of a box that's been sitting next to my desk.
Ever After Blue Hawaiian
8.30.2017
Today I have Ever After Blue Hawaiian from the Flake It Up Jelly collection. This is a listed as a bold ocean blue jelly with color shifting flakes. I'm absolutely obsessed with this polish. For years, I drank nothing but Blue Hawaiian drinks at the bar, so this was so for me.
Ever After Tequila Sunrise
8.29.2017
Have you been keeping up with indies? It's so awesome to me that what started with Lynnderella and Cult Nails has EXPLODED into hundreds of shops. What started as a bunch of girls getting together for dinner and talking nails has turned into conventions across the country and even some in Europe and Australia! It's been so fascinating to watch over the past 8 years.
Sinful Colors Exotic Green
3.11.2016
Guess what's coming up? St. Patrick's! I teamed up with some of the best bloggers out there to bring you 7 Days of St. Patrick's! We are posting polishes and nail art looks that revolve around green. Today I have a polish from Sinful Colors called Exotic Green from the Sham-Rockin collection.
I used a base coat of Duri Rejuvacote, 3 coats of polish and finished with Glisten & Glow H K Girl top coat. This polish is a bit of a jelly, so I used 3 coats to try and cover the whole nail. I didn't realize this was a jelly until the first coat so it was a surprise. This green reminds me of a squishy cactus.
There is quite a bit of yellow in this polish but thankfully I didn't have any staining. This would be the perfect base for nail art or just to wear out because you rock that green. Rock it.
Sinful Colors is available at major drug and mass market stores nationwide for $1.99, or online at www.sinfulcolors.com. Join the conversation on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.

China Glaze The Heat Is On
2.06.2016
Yay for Saturday! How are you enjoying the series so far? When it came time for me to pick my China Glaze (because you know I had to use a China Glaze!)... let's just say I had way too many reds and pinks to choose from. I mean yes, China Glaze does have a good rainbow of color but holy cow... so many reds! Today is The Heat Is On from the Summer 2015 Desert Escape collection. This was that weird collection that was only available in open stock at a website called Lock And Mane, nail kits were going to be at Sally's and Ulta was like "Nope, we aren't doing anything with this."
I used a base of Duri Rejuvacote, 2 coats of polish and finished with Glisten & Glow H K Girl top coat.
So The Heat Is On is this tomato red almost jelly like polish. I was really surprised by it at first. The formula was super thin and runny - I gave in and just flooded my cuticles so I could clean up later. Not my favorite formula, but when I really like a color, I'll deal with more time in clean up.
You can see a bit of visible nail line on my middle finger so I may have needed 3 coats. Also my ring finger cuticle needs some serious attention. Right now I have oil on and I'm going to try and see my manicurist before the weekend's over because hey - we have another week of Valentine's to go through!
But back to the polish. this is pretty but the formula makes me mad. I prefer more of a thick creme that can be applied in 2 thin coats versus a runny thin formula that needs 2-3 coats. This red also has a lot of orange in it, which isn't my favorite but it's still doable.
China Glaze [Website] [Facebook] [Twitter] [Instagram] can be found online through several etailers, including my favorite Head2Toe Beauty, Sally's Beauty Supply as well as TransDesign.

nubar Royal Charlotte Pink
8.11.2015
To celebrate the birth of the new Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, nubar came out with a mini bottle aptly named Royal Charlotte Pink. This is in the same line as their shade Royal George Blue mini which was introduced after his birth.
I used a base coat of Duri Rejuvacote, 3 coats of polish and finished with Digital Nails Ain't Nobody Got Time For That. This is a very sheer polish, even with three coats and has small and medium opaque pink glitter.
Here in my light box you can see just how sheer it is. It's almost a Barbie pink base but it's almost more of a jelly than anything else.
Same story here in the sun. The glitter wasn't too hard to work with. I dabbed the polish on first, then brushed it on, so that some of the glitter would come back onto the brush, but not all of it.
Not much variation here in the shade. I didn't have any issues with the glitter sticking up after just one layer of top coat.
Indoors with indirect light and it's just all the same story - sheer, glitter, jelly-like. I'm not sure how many times I'll be wearing this polish. It's a nice novalty and it's the only pink glitter I can think that I own, but I'm not biggest fan of the jelly like formula.
The Royal bottles are available for a limited time for $5 each. Because the nubar website is having problems here at press time, your best bet for ordering is to call them directly at 818-241-0519.
nubar [Website | Facebook | Twitter] can be purchased on their website for $8.00 a bottle in the US. They do have international retailers in Russia, Sweden and the UK.

LVX Sanguine
2.23.2014
Looking for a red hot jelly that's vegan and cruelty free? Look no further than LVX Sanguine from the Fall 2012 collection. I used a base of Cult Nails Get It On, 2 coats of polish and a top of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.
I love how squishy this polish is. You can see a little bit of VNL but I'm too excited about the jelly. I did have a little staining on my cuticles but not at the nails so overall I'm calling this a win.
LVX [Website | Facebook | Twitter | YouTube | Instagram] is available on their website. It is 10-free to include Toluene and Camphor, vegan and cruelty free. Use promo code POLISHGALORE for 20% off your purchase!

Color Club Style Icon
11.06.2012
Skipping around through brands and collection - today's post is from Color Club's 2012 Fall collection titled In True Fashion. This was a 12 piece collection that was split into 6 cremes and 6 shimmers. This is Style Icon, a blue based red jelly that was a bit vampy on the nail. I used a base coat of Poshe, 2 coats of polish and a top of Cult Nails Wicked Fast.
Here in the sun you can see a bit what I mean about it being a jelly like polish - it looks almost watery on the nail instead of fully opaque.
In the indirect sun you can see the vampy red coming out a bit - it's much lighter than the bottle but still not too jelly.
Finally indoors you can tell that this is light and jelly while still being a bit vampy like corn syrup blood that's too thin. Or not? Either way, I'm not sure I'd purchase this for the sake of owning a red jelly. I would like to test it in a jelly sandwich but I may need to just go with 2 coats tops. Pretty, but not really my cup of tea.
