Different dimension Freedom

Nothing To Disclose

When spring hits, I love bringing out my white polishes, mostly for pedicures, but today I pulled out Different dimension Freedom, which is a snow white base with holographic microglitter. This was released in 2016 as part of the All American Collection.

cuccio Flirt

I'm throwing it back to 2019 this week with the cuccio "Coquette Collection" from Spring 2019. If you've been a long-time reader, you may remember that 2019 was a roller coaster of a year. While I was rearranging my Helmers, I found this 8 piece collection that is flirty, sassy and delicate all at the same time. I'm starting off strong with Flirt, a pure cotton white creme.

Digital Nails Red Wedding

Nothing To Disclose

I really miss how Digital Nails tapped into the fandoms of the day or memes of the minute. Today I have Digital Nails Red Wedding, a nod to Game of Thrones massacre from the third book "A Sword of Swords." This polish is packed with multiple sizes of red glitter in a tinted red base.

ASP White Hot

Press Sample

A couple of years ago, I received a press package of ASP Long Wear Polish products and now I'm finally getting around to showing them to you! ASP also produces a gel line but since I change my polish way too often, I'm happy to show their polishes off. Today I'm starting off with White Hot, an opaque white creme.

OPI Polka.com

When I first saw OPI Polka.com from Summer 2013 Euro Centrale collection, I couldn't wait to wear it. I was obsessed with this teal and fuchsia hexagonal glitter with purple microglitter in a clear base.

duri The Struggle Is Real

Press Sample

As I mentioned yesterday, duri has a line of nail lacquers (psst: they carry gel too!) and today I have a pearlescent and sheer white with a fine, classic glitter. This is The Struggle Is Real ($8.50).

Morgan Taylor Can You See My Aura?

Press Sample

Happy Thanksgiving! As I mentioned before, this is my least favorite holiday but it's just because I don't eat turkey or ham or most the "traditional" dishes that you're probably about to eat. When I was a kid, my Mom did the traditional dinner ONCE... used the fine china, invited her two brothers and their families... and at the end of it, she was burned out physically and emotionally. From then on, Thanksgiving became more a day of relaxing and being thankful and less about the food. In fact, what we'd do is go to the deli the day before and get all our favorite meats, cheeses and finger foods (crackers, pickles, you know what I'm talking about) and we'd have what my mom called a "smorgasbord." However, it more resembled the charcuterie boards that I drool over on Instagram.

Today I picked Morgan Taylor Can You See My Aura? to wear. This was part of the Ullusion Platinum Collection from summer 2019. It's a white duo-chrome that shifts pink pearl. When I first saw it, I was like "Oh, that's pretty" but then it just sat on my shelf. However, the reason I pulled it now is because I'm super thankful for Morgan Taylor. They were always really nice to me at Cosmoprof North America when I'd go, and supported PolishGalore for years with press samples.

Morgan Taylor Water Field

Nothing To Disclose

I have a lot of nail polish, that's for sure, but when I see rainbow reflective glitter? I gotta have it. I ended up buying Morgan Taylor Water Field during the Amazon Prime Day and then it's just sat on my desk. I think this was part of the original launch of Morgan Taylor's core collection but I can't find much information about it online. This is a clear polish with silver microglitter and small round rainbow reflective glitter.

Morgan Taylor Some Girls Prefer Pearls

Press Sample

I'm getting to the second half of the Morgan Taylor Marilyn Monroe fall 2019 collection and today was one I was personally dreading. This is Some Girls Prefer Pearls and is listed as a "white shimmer."

Sally Hansen White on Time

Press Sample

People are always talking about their HG (Holy Grail) of white creme polishes. The hard part is making sure you get it opaque without streaks or a ton of coats. Considering that the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri claims to be a 1 coat polish, will this be my new HG? Today's polish is called White On Time.

China Glaze Pret-A-Potion

Press Sample

Woo it's time! While my oldest is a tad old for Trick or Treating and my youngest is too young, it still means I'm going to eat all the Reeses Peanut Butter Cups I can find. Let's share the final shade of the Paint It Black collection with Pret-A-Potion. This is a black microglitter in a clear base, best worn as a topper.

China Glaze Don't Be A Snowflake

Press Sample

Do you find yourself wearing "winter" colors in the spring? Because that was my motivation today with the above China Glaze polish.

Vapid. Unicorn Egg

Nothing To Disclose

Have you heard of the Vapid Purge? This was my first year to participate - it's a once a year blowout sale held at the end of the year while Vapid is on their winter break. For some, it's a gold mine of limited editions/runs, prototypes, one-offs and awesome polishes.

LVX Vanille

Press Sample

This week, LVX released their first joint Fall/Winter collection which included Vanille, a buttery beige. I wasn't really sure what to think of this color the first time. It reminds me a little of cake batter but we all know that whites and yellows can be notoriously hard to apply, so I was a bit scared.

I started with a base coat of Duri Rejuvacote, 3 coats of polish and finished with Digital Nails Ain't Nobody Got Time For That top coat. The first coat of polish was a disaster - nothing but streaks and I was worried. The second coat self-leveled quite a bit but I still felt like it was a little patchy in a few places. The third coat of polish leveled the polish out perfectly and had the right level of opacity so I felt confident to top coat. The best part is that the thin coats of polish used dry fast with LVX, so you don't have to worry about smearing or smudging.

I keep starting at my nails and I'm still not sure if this is a ME color or not. On the one hand, I like how it's a stark contrast from my normal purples or pinks but on the other hand, it's not the most flattering look to my eye. Reminds me a little of yellow snow heh. I am very pleased with the formula in the end though.

LVX [Website | Facebook | Twitter | YouTube | Instagram] is available on their website. It is 10-free to include Toluene and Camphor, vegan and cruelty free. Use promo code POLISHGALORE for 20% off your purchase!

KBShimmer Cool Hand Cuke

Press Sample

Do you celebrate Easter? We went to see family since this is probably one of the last trips I'll get to make before my son is born. A perfect polish to wear for this spring holiday is KBShimmer Cool Hand Cuke, a pale minty green polish with pastel glitters in circle, triangle, stars and hexes ranging from extra small to large.

I used a base coat of Duri Rejuvacote, 3 coats of polish and finished with KBShimmer Clearly on Top. I inverted the bottle 30 minutes before application in order to help the glitters float to the top.

Here in the light box, you can see the different glitters really applied well. I was able to get a little bit of everything without any issues.

Same with the sun. I did feel like I got a bit TOO many glitters on my index and middle fingers but nothing was sticking up or poking up so we're good.

Meanwhile in the shade? Well - I'm really not loving it with this photo. I don't know if it's the color or the glitter or what but either way this just doesn't do it for me when I see it in the shade.

Finally I have a photo in indirect light. I really do like how unique this polish is but I'm not sure that I'll pull for it more than just spring time. That being said, I'm glad I have it because the different glitters is awesome.

KBShimmer [website] can be purchased through their website for those in the United States and through Harlow and Co for international sales. Prices range from $5.50 to $8.75. Connect with KBShimmer through their social media networks: FacebookTwitterInstagram and Pinterest.

KBShimmer Eyes White Open

 Press Sample

Ever since Cult Nails announced they were closing, I have been hoping to find another "holy grail" white - you know, that perfect 1-2 coater that is NOT streaky or messy. Thankfully, the KBShimmer Spring 2015 collection included this beautiful white creme called Eyes White Open. Will it hold up to my beloved Tempest?

For this manicure, I used a base coat of Duri Rejuvacote, 2 coats of polish and finished with KBShimmer Clearly On Top. The formula was a little messy for me but with careful cleanup, I was able to see the results below.

This photo was taken in my light box. LOOK HOW PRETTY IT IS. If you're in the East Coast USA, you may recognize this as the tons of snow you're getting. I'm really happy that it's looking pretty fantastic though - no streaks, super opaque.

This photos was taken in the shade but you'd barely know it! It looks so pretty and clean. It's definitely going to be repurchased when I run out of it and Cult Nails Tempest.

This was taken in indirect light under my porch. You can tell just how smoothly it applied and even though I had to get into my cuticles, you can't really tell.

This is also in indirect light but indoors. What else can you say? I'm happy with it and I do know this will be repurchased. I plan to use it a lot this summer with neons.

LVX Porcelaine

Press Sample

This May, LVX launched their Summer 2014 collection which included the beautiful timeless ivory creme Porcelaine. Inspired by the McQueen runway, this classic neutral white creme is a great staple for any collection.

I started with Cult Nails Get It On for my base coat, 2 coats of polish, and finished with LVX's new Gel Like Top Coat. The first coat went on a little streaky but the second thin coat evened out over the nail, especially paired with the LVX Gel Like Top Coat.

How pretty is this?! It's a great crisp white, perfect by itself or as a base for nail art.

Even in the shade, you can see it's a great neutral color.

Finally inside with some soft indirect light, this color looks almost a little more on the cream side than on the ivory side, but it's great to see in all lights.

July 4th Nail Art with CND VINYLUX!

For once this year, I will be out celebrating the 4th of July and so I knew that I needed some rocking nails. Because I will be out of town, I wanted something with lasting power and what better nail polish to use than long lasting CND VINYLUX Weekly Polish?

I decided to go for a water marble for my test run and the results were definitely neat. I'm my own worst enemy and I have some ideas on how to improve but for now, check out what I did!

To prep, I started with clean nails and got my supplies ready.

I have my favorite polish remover, cotton pads and clean up brush for clean up, regular petroleum jelly with cotton swabs to prep my skin with, orange sticks, glass of tap water and CND VINYLUX in Rouge Red, Cream Puff and Blue Rapture. The last bottle is the CND VINYLUX Weekly Top Coat.

To start, I applied 2 thin coats of Cream Puff. Now, you can see it's a tad streaky, and possibly a 3rd coat would even this all out but I wasn't too concerned - I just wanted a base to marble on.

Then I marbled. I tried a number of variations, including not adding white, alternating white between the red and the blue, and attempting to swirl the colors completely. What transpired was a different design on each nail.

I'm not sure which nail I love the most. They all were so unique in their own way. I was really impressed with the Top Coat, as this was my first trial run with it, and my nails were dry enough to go to bed within 30 minutes. For a long lasting product like this, I expected it to take longer to dry but CND states that the top coat dries in just 8.5 minutes.

One mistake that I made was that I didn't cap the tips of my nails. I'm at the stage where my length is too long for typing in my day job, leading to tip wear immediately. Because of my tip wear, I had to remove my design but it all works out because I'm getting a manicure before the trip so I can water marble again.  I also got some great tips on my Facebook, including to use a smaller cup and try bottled water. I look forward to marbling again VERY soon.

You can purchase CND VINYLUX for $9.90 per bottle at select salons.

Join CND via their social media channels: Twitter, Facebook, InstagramPinterest and on YouTube.

China Glaze Boo-gie Down

So maybe you remember the drama from last year's China Glaze Halloween collection. Long story short, the 3rd party graphic designer that was hired to make the box artwork ended up stealing a photo off DeviantArt and changing the colors. Well China Glaze fired the graphic designer (and who knows what else) and this year as a sign of good will, they worked with the original artist Abigail Larson for the box artwork. Abigail even got to sign the image which is in all beauty supply stores and I think that's really awesome.

When I saw these at Cosmoprof North America, all I wanted to do was hide them in my bag and run away. I'm such a sucker for glitter. When these arrived at my door, I decided to try Boo-Gie Down first. This multi-sized orange, black and white glitter needed a good base color so after looking in my stash, I decided on Electric Pineapple from the 2011 Summer Collection "Island Escape". I had a base coat of Rejuvacote, 2 coats of Electric Pineapple and then just one coat of Boo-Gie Down. I topped my nails with Cult Nails Wicked Fast to smooth out any glitter and add shine.

I had tried a new manicurist and she just didn't quite get my cuticles smoothed out so I apologize for them. I'm also working on keeping them oiled at all times so they look healthy and moisturized.  So here it is in the sun - you can see all the different glitters in there... small, medium and large (pointer) as well as bar glitter. Great mix for Halloween!

I tried using the glitter on its own for an accent nail but I feel like it just makes the nail look dirty - like you stuck your hand in salt and pepper. Otherwise, I'm in love.

This photo is indoors without flash. I'm still without a storm door so I'm trying to find good lighting in my house for photos. This was also taken with my PaS camera instead of my DSLR so it's all a learning curve up in here.

If I had to pick one polish out of this whole collection that's a MUST BUY, I'd say it this one. Definitely a big fan of the size of glitter and the appropriateness for Halloween. I'm seriously thinking about making this my Halloween manicure but with all fingers using Electric Pineapple instead of just 4 out of 5.

Glitter Daze Summer Sprinkles

Glitter Daze [Website | Facebook | Pinterest | Instagram | tumblr]  is an indie line from my home state in Texas. I cannot believe I missed meeting the creator while at Cosmoprof North America Las Vegas this year but she made sure to shoot me an email and asked if she could send me a few bottles. As you know, I'm still learning about indies and while I have my favorites, I do like finding new brands.

Glitter Daze features two size options for her polishes - a full size 15 mL for $11-11.50 & mini 4 mL (shown above) for $5.00. I'm very impressed with her business. Not only does she offer two different sizes, but she also has her own base coat, her own top coat, her own cuticle sticks and a Subscription Box with 3 different levels and including only a 100 run Limited Edition full size polish.  Oh wait, there's more... she has apple blossom scented polish remover and hand "fizzies"! And she has international shipping available through stockists AND she has a rewards program on her website.  Deep breath.

I used a base coat of NYC Clear, 1 coat of polish and topped it with Digital Nails Ain't Nobody Got Time For That. On my ring finger, I used Golden Rose 38 to show this over a color.

Okay, so this is a glitter polish that has multicolored neon glitter with black and white microglitter all in a clear base. It looks like a super blended fruit salad which is suoer fun.

This is just one coat! I love that it's a clear base, no issues with bleeding.

I didn't have any issues with the glitter being curled or raised with just one top coat, so that's fab too.  This is like an awesome glitter bomb that I have no problems wearing far into winter. What cracks me up is that I would have never picked this normally in the bottle but I LOVE it on. So don't judge a polish by its bottle!  Truth!
