China Glaze B-Girlz

Tomorrow, an American film actor and artist will be at my campus for a presentation.  I actually met him today when he came to do a talk show for us, but tomorrow I have to be with the entire school for this presentation.  I was looking for a color that would pop, especially since I'll probably be wearing lots of black (can't stand out on days like tomorrow when you're running up on stage, in the catwalks, etc), but wasn't going to get me yelled at ^_^

I finally decided to grab China Glaze B-Girlz which was from the Kicks Collection.  This was one of my untries since I seem to have a LOT of pinks lately, and after my application, I do think I need to do some color comparisons when I FINALLY GET SOME SUN.  I had a bit of a love/hate with this polish.  The first coat was very watery and coverage was spotty, making me wonder if this was a neon but coat two was pooling into a few of my cuticles (I went a bit thicker coat for 2)  but overall this is an awesome pink shimmer polish - almost a hot pink with very light purple shimmery dust in it that I only saw when I nearly stuck my finger in my eye.  I used Seche Natural for my base and my bottle of Seche Vite which got a healthy dose of Seche Restore last night.

ONE DAY LATER EDIT

omg!  Sun!  I ran home to snap these pictures for you - real pictures!

Barielle Daring Dahlia

I am so sick of the "No Sun" that has been inflicted upon me since I started my blog.  Rawr.  Then I find out today that the special lamps I bought for my light box takes a different light bulb than the pricey ones I bought.  /headdesk.

So unfortunately I have some regular olde web camera pictures tonight but WOW this color was a surprise to me!

Barielle Daring Dahlia is from their Spring 2010 Polish Collection "Wildflower" and they describe it as "a deep fuchsia with a hint of silver metallic."  I personally did not see the silver, but I'm also under daylight lamps (6500K), and not the sun.  I used Seche Natural for my base coat and only 2 thin coats of polish.  The application was VERY smooth which was quite delightful - but it dried like a neon - matte.

Maybe it's the matte that throws off a silver metallic?  Either way, I couldn't leave it alone like that, so I put on a coat of Seche Vite and BAM.

Jelly goodness. /loves  Gotta say, for being my first Barielle, I am VERY pleased with the color, and application.

Barielle retails for $8/bottle.

China Glaze Lavender Lingo

While on a small spree at Head2ToeBeauty, I finally decided to get China Glaze Lavender Lingo from the Patent Leather II collection, now discontinued.  This is a creme, and was a bit streaky - it took 3 thick coats to get it opaque.  I'm also pretty confused on the color - this doesn't look lavender to me.  I'm sorry for the icky pictures - it's been pouring like mad here.  This is the first time in three years that we haven't had a drought for the month of February, please bring on the sun!

Now to the pictures!  First up "sun" which is actually loads of clouds with rain.

Then a few "shade" which was still just lots of clouds and rain.

And finally one with a flash which was the most true to life color - this is such a pinkie color!
