China Glaze Towel Boy Toy

China Glaze Towel Boy Toy is the lone neon shimmer from the Poolside collection.  It's funny, you would have never caught me dead wearing blue nail polish a few years ago, and now I'm quite pleased to do so.  I did not use a white base with this, but instead just some Seche Natural for my base, 3 coats of Towel Boy Toy, and a top of Seche Vite.  Despite the bad cleanup on my cuticles, this polish was very well behaved - even for a neon.  I really didn't have any issues with steaks or anything.  What I am having issues with is my nails themselves.  I tried buffing out the ridges to try and smooth some layers out but that didn't quite work.  I have the entire Seche system from Sally's, that I want to try for a week (sometime), and I also bought another product at Sally's to see if that works.

Without further complaining about my nails, here's a "sun" (cloudy) picture from yesterday followed by one in the shade.  I totally rocked this color for Easter Sunday mass, heck yeah.
One thing I have to mention about this color was that the shimmer made it much less retina burning neon than the other colors in the collection.  I think this would really rock for an 80s party.

Sneak Peek

Holy Mother of Pearl - I have a lot of swatching to do.  Here's just a sneak peek of my polishing rack of colors to be reviewed, and missing are the 30+ colors I just recently bought from a company... I'll own the entire line when I get my package!

China Glaze Sun Worshiper

I actually wrote this blog last week but had some Internet issues.
China Glaze Sun Worshiper, also from the Poolside collection was a very bright in your face orange.  My bottle was mangled by the shipping company as you can see, but it's holding well.  I decided to do things a little differently for it and not use a white base.

Instead for my pictures (this is under sun), I used Seche Natural for my base, 3 layers of polish and on my first two fingers (pointer and middle) I added a layer of Seche Vite for shine.  The other two fingers (ring and pinkie) I left matte.  Can you really tell?  It was better in person because it was either shiny or not.

In the shade, you can tell a little better.  This would be a great color for Halloween too.  I didn't have any problems with the formula, which is always a plus.

Essie "Wedding Collection"

Please click on the image to see it full screen.  Essie is coming out with a Wedding Collection this year.  The colors look sweet - Petal Pink, BBF Best Boyfriend, Pillow Talk, Walk Down The Aisle, Show Me The Ring, and Main Squeeze.  I'm not sure if they are creams or shimmers, but they are pretty.

Essie can be purchased on their website [official website] or etailers like Head2ToeBeauty [official website] or TransDesign [official website].
