Barielle Snap Dragon

shades by Barielle "Snap Dragon" was the odd duck to me in the Wildflower collection.  Barielle calls it a metallic sea foam green, and I must say, that's pretty dead on.  It was almost a chrome in my opinion as it applied a lot like the China Glaze Khrome collection.

I must say though, I had application issues.  The formula was pretty thick, and yet a thin coat left bald spots, so I just went with one thick coat and cleaned up my cuticles.  I used Seche Natural for my base, one coat of Snap Dragon and a coat of Seche Vite to hold it all in place.

Sun and shade picture to follow:
Brush strokes galore!  I had just buffed my nails a few days ago, so you don't see all the ridges, but as with all metallic/chromes, I highly suggest a ridge filler.

Barielle retails for $8/bottle.

Color Club Wild At Heart vs China Glaze LOL

With my sunshine fleeting, I wanted to quickly get a side by side of Color Club "Wild At Heart" and China Glaze "LOL".  Right off the bat, you can see from the bottles that these are not duplicates at all.  The Color Club bottle is a deeper purple and the holographic effect looks more like a glitter whereas China Glaze is a more blue purple with a pronounced rainbow holographic effect.

In the sun, you see the same result:

Oh the loveliness.  Sadly, in the shade, everything is dulled, but you can see the pigment difference in the two bottles.
Check out those amazing cuticles.  Yeah, I was in a super rush as you can tell.  I'm actually embarrassed by it!  I also need to start really investing in my cuticle oils - making sure that they are moisturized and pretty for you.

Color Club Wild At Heart

Color Club "Wild at Heart" was from their Wild At Heart collection, and I knew it would be one of my favorites overall.  The best part was the coverage.  I used Seche Natural as my base and ONE, yes ONE coat of Wild at Heart.  Originally I put a top coat of Seche Vite, but unfortunately with most holos, it made the pretty holo dull, so I took it all off (I also had a doctor's appointment that afternoon) and did it again, sans top coat.  I was pretty freaked out to go without a top coat, but the polish faired pretty well.

Wild at Heart is a deep purple that just sparkles rainbows, quite differently than the China Glaze holographics, but I will leave that for another post.  ^_^

I really liked that this was one coat.  Sun picture:
I mean really, check that out!

In the shade, however, it's slightly duller of a color.  Nature of the beast!
Still pretty though!

Cheeky Monkey Bite Me

Have I mentioned how much I love the names of these polishes?  Also in my PR sample from Cheeky Monkey, was this pretty pink creme (listed as "medium pink" on their website) that wasn't quite Barbie but not quite Pepto Bismol pink either.  Whatever it was, I liked the sound of it... it was nice contradiction... pretty pink but with a name like Bite Me?  Yes please.  I imagine Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Sarah Michelle Gellar version only) would wear this... either that, or Nail Me... which I'll be swatching soon enough... /foreboding music goes here.

TAG LOVE!

I used one base coat of Wet Dream and as per bottle instructions, I did use 2 coats of Bite Me, however I could still see some VNL (visible nail line) as I added my top coat of Seche Vite.

One sun and one shade:

So I decided on my right hand to put on three coats, to see if that would be better... here was my result:

You can still see a bit of VNL but it was better than the 2 coats.  I may have needed 4 coats from this baby, but at this point, my sun was disappearing, so I was just excited to get pictures.  Overall, a very wearable pink for my skin, and I may even have a duplicate of this in China Glaze from the Glitters and Cremes Speciality collection, but none have as cool of a name.  ^_^
