China Glaze Ingrid

This is another one of those bottles from the Vintage Vixen collection that I kind of just looked at going "um"?  Thankfully Ingrid is not an "um" color!  Listed as "greige creme with copper microglitter."  Okay seriously, what is greige?  Merriam-Webster says that it's "being in an unbleached undyed state as taken from a loom - used of textiles".  Ohhh, it's a French word.  That explains it.

Okay back to reality - so I was really excited about the copper microglitter.  If you remember from the other day, Goin' My Way? had a copper shimmer... you know I'm not the biggest fan of gold (in jewelry especially) but copper is pretty neat.

I used Seche Retain for my base (had some nail issues), only one coat of Ingrid, and topped with some Seche Vite.  The formula on this was the same as the others but with more opacity, so I only needed one coat.

Look at this beautiful application!  It's just the right color of muddy brown and I love it.

I think this is one of those colors that is like Rescue Beauty Lounge "No More War".  I think you're either going to love it or hate it.

Heh you can see my camera and other hand in this indirect sun picture.  No shade - I kept getting green hands.

You really didn't see as much of the microglitter in this shade, but that was okay with me!  In the bottle, up close, you can see it suspended in the creme, but on the nail, not so much.  Overall, this is a definite keeper.

Essie "Made In The Shade"

Do you see what I see?!  A glitterly blue?  Go Essie!  I may have to pick that one up even though I'm getting a small collection going of sparkly blues.

Essie can be purchased on their website [official website] or etailers like Head2ToeBeauty [official website] or TransDesign [official website].

China Glaze Swing Baby

Hey look - more Vintage Vixen!  Swing Baby is listed as a taupe frost with silver micro glitter.  Boy, they weren't kidding.  I'm not even going to mess with talk, just picture spam.

I used Seche Natural for my base, two coats of Swing Baby, and a top coat of Seche Vite.

Smell that frost.  It looks a little bit like a metallic in nature.  This next picture was by accident but shows off some bling in the frost.
The bottle is showing some rainbow in it, you see them?!

Then I turned my back and got an indirect sun picture.
Uh, whoa.

I mean, WHOA.

Bling!  I'm seriously at a loss for words on this color.  It was a complete surprise.  I'm feeling this frost thing, really.

China Glaze Classic Camel

Stay with me on this one.  When I saw this bottle, I wasn't too excited either.  It reminds me of vanilla ice cream that was frostbitten.  But Classic Camel from the Vintage Vixen Fall 2010 Collection is AWESOME.  I had to stop myself from just making this my entire manicure.

It almost gave me mannequin hands, which I'm not complaining!  Such a cool color packed with microglitter.  China Glaze describes it as khaki creme with gold micro glitter and boy, does it ever have gold microglitter in it.

I used Seche Natural for my base, 2 coats of Classic Camel, and a top of Seche Vite.  My brush on this bottle was a bit weird - almost like a fan brush - flat.  But that actually made application easier.  Go figure.

See!  Buttery yellow awesomeness!

Do you SEE that microglitter?!

Here's one in indirect sun.
Calm, cool, collected.

Finally a shade picture to finish you off:
This was when I was seeing mannequin hands but not quite in the pictures.  Either way, this is a fast favorite - and a yellow at that... without the problems of yellow!  YAY!

China Glaze Goin' My Way?

I constantly say that I'm looking for a good neutral office color polish, but I don't work in an office.  I have the awesome gift of getting to work at home, so no one is going to give me a tsk if I show up at my computer wearing bright blue neon polish.  Regardless, I'm still looking for some good neutrals.

I have to say, at first, I was kinda "ho-hum" about the entire Vintage Vixen collection until I remembered that this is a FALL collection.  Now, Texas doesn't really have a "fall", but I did live in Oregon for awhile, so I remember leaves changing colors and falling down.  Once I remembered that, I was all excited for this collection again.

Goin' My Way? is listed as brown frost with copper shimmer and that's pretty much dead on.  I used Seche Natural for my base, 1 coat of Goin' My Way? and a top coat of Seche Vite.  This formula was interesting - no pooling in my cuticles but it seemed a tad thick runny at first, if that makes sense.  I worked it out.

As you can tell in the sun, my camera went OOH SHIMMER, so you see a lot of copper in these pictures mixed with the brown frost.

But in the shade, oh yum that brown frost comes alive.  This is a good office color to me.
Look how rich that is!  Reminds me of a chocolate bar.  Mmm chocolate.
