China Glaze Awakening (Halloween)

Last year, I thought that China Glaze outdid itself with Fortune Teller for its 2009 Halloween Set, but just LOOK at this 3 piece "gorgeous and ghoulish glitters" coming out in September!  The purple is "Mummy May I" and it's a vampy wine colored purple base with flecks of hot pink glitter.  The green is "Zombie Zest" and it's a mossy green shade with gold flecks of microglitter.  Finally that orange is "Ick-A-Body" and it's actually a dark green base (!) with orange glitter.  The orange glitter literally takes OVER that dark green.  Included in this set is a bottle of Fast Forward Top Coat.

China Glaze's Facebook Fan Page and their Twitter Page [Twitter Page] includes swatches of all three.

Now here's the slight kicker.

The colors will be available individually starting in September but this actually 4 piece box set will be only available for professionals (you know, people with cosmetology licenses).

Update!  I got the 411 on this from China Glaze.  Starting in September, you will be able to buy these 3 colors individually at Sally's Beauty Supply.  This actual 4 piece named "Awakening" with the Fast Forward Top Coat, will be available through other professional retailers (beauty stores), and possibly online too (Head 2 Toe Beauty, 8ty8, etc).  Got it?

However, knowing China Glaze, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if they gave a couple away in either their weekly Friday Twitter giveaways, or just as a special treat.  Twitter is seriously THE PLACE to be for companies, and China Glaze has worked it well.

China Glaze Midnight Mission

What's up, off centered bottle?  Heh.  Midnight Mission from the Vintage Vixen collection which is being released domestically today (!) is listed as a navy blue frost with silver micro glitter.  The whole Essie Starry Night thing was before me,  but it seems like this could possibly be a bit like it?  I don't know, like I said, this is before my "time".  ^_^

I had a base coat of Seche Natural, 2 coats of Midnight Mission, and a top coat of Seche Vite.  This color and formula was pretty decent - nothing extremely special but nothing bad either.  I'm not sure how I feel about navy still.  Sun pictures up first.

I think this would be a really great fall color come September, when the leaves are starting to fall... I think?  We don't have "fall" down here, but I love the concept of trees losing their color and leaves instead of what we have, haha.

I only got one shade picture for you today.

And that's all she wrote.

China Glaze First Class Ticket

Oh man.  China Glaze got me all excited with this one - First Class Ticket is a deep purple frost with shimmer and wow, it's amazing.  I did have to do some major color correction on the actual pictures but let me tell you, it was totally worth it.  This is a blurple, meaning you see lots of blue along with the purple - in fact, the shimmer was mostly blue particles.  Oh man, I'm just going to shut my mouth and start with all the pictures (there are a lot of them).

I used a base of Seche Natural, 2 coats of First Class Ticket, and a top of Seche Vite.  Yum.  Sun first.

I mean, seriously - look at this!  Like I said, I had to color correct to get this to its true color - the camera was going nuts saying "BLUE" but this is definitely a purple on your hands.  Soooo pretty.  Shade pictures:

I think this is probably the MUST HAVE of the collection for me.  I absolutely adore this color.

4th of July Nail Art

So, we went from 109 degrees to Hurricane Alex.  We're talking 5 inches of rain in a day.  What on earth.  I hate this weather.

Thinking back, it's rained EVERY 4th of July that I can think of.  I'm in South Texas!  It's not supposed to rain!  Blah.

I also broke a nail (after all my China Glaze Vintage Vixen swatches, so tomorrow it will look like my nails grew tons!) so I'm back to tiny nubbins again.

Very simple manicure here... Seche Natural for my base, 2 coats of China Glaze Ruby Pumps, some tiny rhinestones from eBay on my ring finger, and a top coat of Seche Vite.  On my ring finger, I used Winning Nails "Tough Coat" which is supposed to specifically seal nail art.  I feel like it makes the rhinestones look a tiny bit gummy.

Anywho, no real sun, but here's a few pictures.  Happy 4th of July to all my American readers!

Tee hee, I kinda screwed up the rhinestones.  Well, I tried.  Kinda looks like a rocket!

NovaLash Eyelash Extentions

*Photo located on NovaLash's website.

On July 12th delayed until spring 2011 :(, I'm getting a complementary set of NovaLash Eyelash Extentions [official website | Facebook Page | Twitter Page] put on from Bella Bella Salon [official website], where I got my purple hair.  Whew, that's a lot of links in a sentence.

Bella Bella is going to start offering NovaLash and were giving out 5 free applications, so I snagged a spot.  This procedure costs about $300 as they apply each lash by hand and it's lash by lash.  I was told that they will fall out with my natural eyelashes, in 2-4 weeks.  I could come back in 2 weeks for a reapplication which would run about $45, or just let them fall out.  I did fail to ask what color they are using, as I've seen on their website that they have green, purple, and blue.  I'd like to stick with just black, hah.

I have a huge love/hate with fake eyelashes... love the way they look - still haven't figured out how to put them ON myself, so this is going to be awesome.  While I'm not going to stop nail polish blogging (yeah right), I am branching out a teeny tiny bit.  Later this month, I will also be reviewing beauty products for Beauty Debutante [official website] and writing as a guest blogger.  Wee!

I'm pretty excited about the whole thing, so expect a post in the coming weeks about it!  ^_^
