LVX Roux

Press Sample

Have you decided on a LVX polish to splurge on yet? Remember, the Gloss48 sale ends soon! So my absolute stand out of the spring 2014 collection is this beautiful coral creme, Roux. I am absolutely obsessed with coral lately (currently wearing a coral on my toes too) and hope to see it take off again in fashion. For this manicure, I used a base of Cult Nails Get It On, 2 coats of polish and a top coat of Digital Nails Ain't Nobody Got Time For That.

This polish is absolute perfection. The color is so spot on, the formula was so opaque and lovely, no pooling, no staining. This is what I expect from LVX, every time, and they totally delivered. If you can only buy one LVX this round, GET THIS ONE.

China Glaze Crinkled Chrome

Okay, I know people have some pretty strong opinions about this next collection. I have a love hate - it reminds me SO much of the Easter pastel Hershey Kisses that my grandmother used to stock in her candy dish. I have these polishes in my stash here at home and looking forward to wearing them, especially at Easter - good memories for me.

ORLY Galaxy FX Collection

So ORLY, you put out another awesome FX collection late last year, but man - I never even saw it in my local Sally's! I think we should see ORLY in more stores, who's with me? (PS: Yes, I know it's in Ulta, but Ulta is an hour away for me.)

Please enjoy the following press release - images provided by ORLY.

Zoya Naturel Collection

So way back in December (I KNOW), Zoya made some of us in office positions VERY happy with the announcement of a nude collection! Now, why they chose to name it "Naturel" instead of "Natural" - I have no idea. Does anyone else know? Please enjoy the following release - all images courtesy of Zoya.

LVX d'Orsay

Press Sample

Today I have LVX d'Orsay, a pinkish nude creme. I used a base coat of Cult Nails Get It On, 3 coats of polish and a top coat of Digital Nails Ain't Nobody Got Time For That.

Point blank, sad panda, this polish was a pain in my neck. My first coat was so extremely streaky that I actually took it off, and reapplied my entire manicure. I thought maybe I had oils on my nails or something but nope, same result. The second coat started to even out the streaky but not entirely. Above is three thin coats of polish - the streaks are gone but I'm not 100% thrilled with the application and the appearance on my ring finger. I feel like I need a ridge filler on that nail. I used to buff my nails once a month but I haven't done it in at least 6 months at this point.

Okay so up side - pretty creme, nice nude, definitely office appropriate. Negatives - streaky application and needed 3 coats instead of 2.
